We are continuing the week in the NBA with a 6-game slate on Tuesday. It is headlined by a doubleheader on TNT that begins with Atlanta visiting New Orleans at 7:30 pm ET before Denver hosts Minnesota at 10:00 pm ET. The Nets, Suns, Knicks, Grizzlies and Lakers are also taking the court.

Atlanta Hawks ML over New Orleans Pelicans (+110)
When you can get any decent team (and the Hawks are at least decent) at plus-money odds against the Pelicans, it’s probably a good bet these days. New Orleans has won 2 straight, but prior to that, it had lost 10 in a row. The Pels are just 1 game over .500 after once finding themselves at 26-17. Atlanta has accounted itself well enough on its current Western Conference road trip and it should be inspired with the finish line in sight (the Hawks return home following this contest). Trae Young and company are 2-2 on the trip and 1 of the losses was to West-leading Denver on the second leg of a back-to-back situation without Young (illness). Assuming Young returns, the visitors have a good shot at winning outright.

Denver Nuggets -7.5 over Minnesota Timberwolves (-110)
The Nuggets played a back-to-back after blasting the Hawks and lost to none other than the Timberwolves on Sunday. Denver rested basically everyone (including Nikola Jokic), however, so that result can be thrown out the window. If anything it puts the revenge factor on the Nuggets’ side. They had previously won 3 in a row and 23 of their last 29 games, so it’s no surprise to see them leading the Western Conference by a comfortable 4.5 games. It should also be noted that Denver is back at home after falling to Minnesota on the road. The Timberwolves are 9-15 on the road compared to 20-12 at home. Count on the Nuggets winning and covering.
Lakers -10.5 alternate spread over Oklahoma City Thunder (+145)
LeBron James is just 36 points away from breaking the NBA all-time scoring record held by Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. The Lakers have another home game after this one, so LeBron is almost certain to break it in front of the Los Angeles crowd. Still, he would obviously like to go ahead and make history on Tuesday. The 38-year-old averaged 33.8 points per game in January and exceeded the 36-point mark on 6 occasions. There is no reason why he can’t do it against the Thunder, who are playing the second night of a back-to-back after getting blown out by the Warriors (without Stephen Curry) on Monday. The combination of tired legs and a motivated LeBron could make for a long day at the office for Oklahoma City.
