Good morning, Pickswise Nation. College football bowl season is over until next Monday’s National Championship and we are in between weeks in the NFL, but there is still plenty to discuss for Tuesday. The menu is full when it comes to the NBA, NHL and college basketball. It’s another big day in the world of sports, so let’s get right to it and make your next bet better with Wise n’ Shine!
About Last Night
Pickswise experts sweep the bowl-game board
The penultimate day of the college football season could not have been more successful for Pickswise. Our experts went 4-0 ATS/ML and 4-0 O/U on Monday’s 4 games. A +608 parlay was successful and a +649 mega parlay also cashed. The marquee matchup of the day saw Tulane stun USC 46-45 in the Cotton Bowl.
Mitchell scores 71 points
Cavaliers guard Donovan Mitchell went positively wild on Tuesday, scoring 71 points during a 145-134 overtime defeat of Chicago. Mitchell, who shot 22-of-34 from the floor, 7-for-15 from deep and 20-of-25 at the free-throw line, also had 11 assists and 8 rebounds.
Lightning strikes twice for Rutgers
Last season Rutgers upset Purdue when the Boilermakers were the nation’s top-ranked team. Well, it happened again. The Scarlet Knights took down #1 65-64, and did so at Purdue.
Editor’s note: There was no Monday Night Football result, as Bills vs Bengals was postponed when Buffalo safety Damar Hamlin collapsed on the field and was issued CPR before being taken to hospital in an ambulance. Pickswise’s thoughts and prayers are with Hamlin and his family.
Today’s Slate
Big day in college basketball
It’s a non-football day, which means basketball is king. Mississippi State vs Tennessee is a blockbuster battle on ESPN2, while Virginia, Kansas and Alabama are among the other teams in action. Here are our college basketball predictions.
Three games in the NBA
What will the NBA produce for an encore to Mitchell’s magical night? We will find out when Milwaukee hosts Washington, Boston travels to Oklahoma City and Utah entertains Sacramento. Don’t miss any of our NBA picks.
Kings vs Stars on ESPN
The NHL is making a somewhat rare appearance on ESPN for the Kings vs Stars game. There are a total of 11 games on the schedule, with Toronto hosting St. Louis and Tampa Bay paying a visit to Chicago. You can find our hockey coverage on the NHL page.
Best Bet of the Day
NHL: Dallas Stars ML (-125) over Los Angeles Kings
10:00 pm ET, ESPN
Dallas is first in the Central Division and Los Angeles is second in the Pacific Division, but the season is still too young to be comfortable so expect each team to come prepared. The Stars have been much too dominant to pick against them these days. The Kings are still showing inconsistencies, as they are coming off of a loss to a weak Flyers team. On the other hand, the Stars have won 4 straight games. Thr clubs are playing at a different level right now, so roll with the hotter one — even on the road. Check out our full Stars vs Kings predictions.

Quote of the Day
“To be there in the record book with guys like Wilt (Chamberlain) is truly humbling. I always believed I could be one of the best players in the league. I’m speechless and blessed to be in the company of that greatness.’’
