Dricus Du Plessis Win by Decision over Sean Strickland (+150)

The Main Event at UFC 312 will see Dricus Du Plessis take on Sean Strickland in the UFC Middleweight division. It will be for the UFC Middleweight title. Du Plessis enters this fight with an MMA record of 22-2 and 8-0 in the UFC. He is averaging 6.18 significant strikes per minute and has a striking accuracy of 49%. Du Plessis is absorbing 4.85 strikes and has a striking defense of 54%. His grappling has also been elite in the UFC, averaging 3.04 takedowns every 15 minutes. He has a takedown accuracy of 50% and a takedown defense of 50%.

Du Plessis is the clear favorite in this fight, so instead we will be looking at how Du Plessis could win. In his previous fight against Strickland in January 2024, Du Plessis won by split decision. Based on this and the fact that Du Plessis has the advantage in striking and grappling, backing him to win by decision will be our best bet.

Tatiana Suarez ML over Zhang Weili (-120)

The Co-Main Event at UFC 312 will see Zhang Weili take on Tatiana Suarez in the UFC Women’s Strawweight division. It will be for the UFC Women’s Strawweight title. Suarez enters this fight with an MMA record of 11-0 and 7-0 in the UFC. She is averaging 4.27 significant strikes per minute and has a striking accuracy of 63%. Suarez absorbs 1.38 strikes and has a striking defense of 51%. Her grappling is also elite, averaging 6.20 takedowns every 15 minutes. She has a takedown accuracy of 61% and a takedown defense of 100%.

Even though Zhang holds the UFC Women’s Strawweight title, she is a small underdog in this title fight. Suarez has not only been perfect in her MMA career, but she has superior grappling compared to Zhang. She is also a more accurate striker and absorbs far less damage. Because of this, backing Suarez to remain unbeaten and claim the UFC Women’s Strawweight title will be our best bet.

Tallison Teixeira ML over Justin Tafa (-135)

The third fight on the Main Card at UFC 312 will see Justin Tafa take on Tallison Teixeira in the UFC Heavyweight division. Teixeira enters this fight with an MMA record of 7-0 and 1-0 in the UFC. He is averaging 14.87 significant strikes per minute and has a striking accuracy of 54%. Teixeira absorbs 9.74 strikes and has a striking defense of 58%.

Even though Teixeira is making his official UFC debut, he is the slight favorite and looks to be the best betting option. Tafa has simply been too inconsistent in the UFC to trust backing him. Teixeira also showed tremendous striking ability in his lone Contender Series fight, therefore backing him to win his UFC debut will be our best bet.
