UFC Betting Explained
There are many different ways in which you can bet on a UFC fight, and of course, the most common and simplest way is on the money line. Unlike other combat sports such as boxing, the UFC is super competitive in nearly all bouts and this means the money line odds are viable plays for bettors. You can also bet on the fights in another number of ways including the method of victory, how many rounds the fight will last as well as some punch and takedown stat metrics, usually set with an over/under line. With so many fights across a card, and odds available on the prelims and early prelims as well as the main card, parlay betting is also increasingly popular among UFC betting fans.

UFC Betting Online
The UFC and MMA, in general, has been one of the fastest-growing spectator sports in the last few years and as such, it’s also booming in the sports betting industry too. With that, sportsbooks are placing considerable attention and emphasis on their UFC betting offering. This is great for the bettor as it often means super competitive odds between books, as well as great bonus prices, odds, and sign-up bonuses around all of the big fights. Nearly all of the Top Online Sportsbooks will offer odds on all of the Main Card fights as well as the Prelim fights, and the majority will also offer odds on the Early-Prelims too. Some of these Early-Prelims and Prelims can be where the best opportunities lay. If you do your research and know the fighters inside out like our experts, then you can often find an edge over the sportsbooks. UFC Sports Betting Markets
There are many different ways in which you can bet on the UFC, from the winner of the fight to the method of victory or even very specific fighter stats-based markets like total takedowns or significant strikes landed. Check out some of the most popular types of UFC betting below.
UFC Money Line Betting
The money line is the simplest form of sports betting and with UFC betting, in particular. A bet on the money line on a UFC fight is picking who will be victorious. With no ties in the UFC, the money line is a simple right or wrong outcome, and it doesn’t matter if your fighter wins on points, by knockout or submission, on the money line a win is a win.
UFC Method Of Victory Betting
Method of Victory is slightly different from the money line. While you’re betting on the winner in the method of victory market, you are also picking the exact way in which the fighter will win. UFC fights are all about matchups and as the saying goes, styles make fights. This is a key consideration when it comes to betting on the UFC method of victory markets, and doing your research on the fighters is important. If you have a fighter that likes to take an opponent to the ground, with a long history of grappling and submission attempts, vs someone with poor takedown defense, then there could be value in taking a fighter to win by submission. Similarly, if two fighters like to stand and trade, then a KO or TKO may be most likely so you can back your idea of the winner to win by KO/TKO at bigger odds than on the money line. More risk, but often greater reward.
UFC Total Rounds Betting
Again, betting on the Total Rounds a fight will last is another that requires research and understanding of the two fighters in the octagon. If you have two tough fighters that don’t fight at a high pace, there could be a good chance of going the distance, where if you have two fighters that leave it all in there and push the pace, it might be over in a flash. Each fight is different and figuring out how the fight will go is key to being on the right side of the Rounds totals.
When Do You Post Your UFC Bets
Our UFC Previews and bets are usually posted following the weigh-ins which take place the day before the fight. The reason for waiting this long is to build up as much information as we can from the fight week clues. One of the major proponents of the UFC’s meteoric rise in the sports world is the access afforded to the media. With many press conferences and then the weigh-in, we can hear from the fighters multiple times and gauge how they seem to be physically and mentally going into a fight. These can be great performance indicators and cant even sway our confidence from one pick to another if a fighter has clearly struggled to make weight for example, they won’t be at 100% on fight night. Pickswise’s experts are here all year long to provide the best free insight and analysis into every fight weekend, including all of the breaking UFC News and analysis to consider.
