To get us set for a huge weekend ahead, we have a light 4-game Friday night in the NHL. However, that is more than enough action on the ice for us to take advantage of the betting markets. Even if you aren’t loving many of the money lines, puck lines or over/unders, we have our experts’ best NHL prop bet picks for you to check out. Along with our best NHL player props, be sure to check out all of our NHL picks for today’s action.
Miro Heiskanen (DAL) over 0.5 assists (+115)
Odds available at time of publishing. Playable to +100.
Both of our NHL prop bet picks for today feature skaters on the road but in very advantageous matchups. The first of which is the Dallas Stars, who are continuing their west coast road trip for a game in Anaheim against the Ducks. Right off the bat, most fans know that’s a great matchup for the Stars skaters to record a point in some capacity, as the Ducks allow the 5th-most goals per game.
The Stars have also been in San Jose playing the Sharks for each of their past 2 games, so they’ve been hanging out in the area beating up on bad teams for a little while. Jason Robertson gets most of the attention, but it’s been Miro Heiskanen tearing things up. He’s recorded 5 points in the last 2 games, with all 5 of them being assists. Similarly, 35 of his 42 points on the year are assists. On top of all that, he is Dallas’ leading point-scorer against Anaheim this year with 4 through 2 meetings. Therefore, we’re starting our NHL prop bet picks with the Stars defenseman to record an assist.
Alex DeBrincat over 0.5 goals (+175)
Odds available at time of publishing. Playable to +150.
A team that is often compared to the Ducks is the Arizona Coyotes, which means that the Detroit Red Wings have a great matchup tonight. They should also welcome this game against Arizona, as they just had to play the Avalanche in Colorado two nights ago. As if things weren’t already looking up for the Wings, Arizona was also just on the ice last night. That means that we expect their poor defense and goaltending to be hindered even more tonight, which should allow Alex DeBrincat to carve them up.
Detroit’s Dylan Larkin is currently injured, which puts even more pressure on DeBrincat to link up with old friend Patrick Kane to lead the Wings to a win. We’re focused on DeBrincat, as he has thrived against the Coyotes. In his last 6 games against them, he’s recorded at least 1 goal in 4 of them, and multiple points in 3 of them. We like either approach, but for one of our NHL prop bet picks, we’re going with DeBrincat to score a goal.
