I’ve been fortunate enough to cash 3 mega parlays over a 5-day span within the last week, so let me try to bring another winner your way. The most recent one was at +1140 odds, and we have another one north of 10/1 as well. There’s no shortage of options tonight, with 9 games on the ice. There are several matchups with significant favorites, but we’ve still found value in 3 different spots. We’re getting things started with the earliest games and capping it off out west with the last game of the night. Let’s get into our NHL mega parlay, but before we dive in, be sure to check out our NHL picks for today’s action.
Tampa Bay Lightning -1.5 (+106) over Detroit Red Wings
One of the first puck drops of the night will be taking place in Tampa Bay tonight. It’s a city that is no stranger to great hockey, as the Lightning have been in the Stanley Cup Finals in each of the last 3 seasons. There’s no doubt that the Red Wings look stronger this season, but Tampa is firing on all cylinders right now. After a mediocre start to the season, they’ve since catapulted to 3rd in the Atlantic Division with a chance at leap-frogging the Toronto Maple Leafs tonight. They’ve gotten to this point by winning 8 of their last 10 games.
However, that doesn’t even do the stretch justice. The only 2 contests they lost during that span were both to the Boston Bruins, one of just 2 teams with 20 wins on the season. While Detroit is a more formidable opponent than years past, they still aren’t the caliber of the Lightning. Their goaltending has improved, but primarily at home. When on the road, they’re still a bottom-10 team in that regard, and Tampa has some of the NHL’s most elite goalscorers in Steven Stamkos and Nikita Kucherov. They combined for 16 points across 4 games against Detroit last season and should have strong nights again tonight.
Los Angeles Kings 3-way ML (+158) over Ottawa Senators
We’ve got just a slight underdog for our 2nd play. However, we’re getting much better odds by taking them to win in regulation. The Kings haven’t been quite as stout defensively as they were a season ago, but they’re still 13-10-4 and sitting in 3rd in the Pacific Division. Meanwhile, the Senators have been in last place of the Atlantic Division virtually all season. They brought in Alex DeBrincat from the Chicago Blackhawks and Claude Giroux from the Florida Panthers over the summer, but it hasn’t quite clicked. Even when they are working in unison to produce goals, their goaltending is still sub-par.
They didn’t make any changes in that regard, so that shouldn’t be too surprising. Ottawa’s defense hasn’t provided much help, as they allow the 6th-most shots per game. With the Kings in the top half of the league in terms of taking shots, they can certainly capitalize. Their addition of Kevin Fiala from the Minnesota Wild has paid dividends, as he leads the team with 28 points in 27 games. In terms of the power play, these teams are similar, along with their penalty kill percentages. Therefore, it’s no surprise that this game is priced rather evenly. Even with the Kings on the road, we’re rolling with them to prove why they’re the team expected to be in the postseason rather than the Sens.
Seattle Kraken -1.5 (+110) over Montreal Canadiens
It’s only fitting to wrap up our mega parlay with the game that wraps up the night on the ice. Although it’s just the franchise’s 2nd season, the Kraken are proving to be a real monster. They’ve surprised the entire NHL and are sitting in 2nd place in the Pacific Division at 15-6-3. Only the Western Conference-leading Vegas Golden Knights are ahead of them, and the Kraken actually beat them 2 weeks ago. That was on the road, and now they get to be in Seattle to take on a much weaker Canadiens team.
Not only is Montreal a lesser opponent, but they’ll also be coming into this matchup on the second night of a back-to-back. Targeting teams in this spot has paid off several times already this season, and it should again tonight. Even if that wasn’t the case, the Kraken truly have been crushing this season. They’re scoring the 5th-most goals per game, have the 8th-best power play unit and have been even better recently. Over the last month, Seattle has scored the 3rd-most goals per game. It felt as though their only significant addition from last year was Andre Burakovsky from the Colorado Avalanche. However, it’s been more than enough and they should prove that tonight on home ice.
Tuesday’s NHL mega parlay (12/6)
Lightning -1.5 (+106)
Kings 3-way ML (+158)
Kraken -1.5 (+110)
Parlay odds +1016
