When piecing together our NHL mega parlays, it’s not simply finding the plays we think are most likely to happen. We’re trying to find the best value to provide you with an incredible payout. That’s how we approached the one that cashed to begin the week, so let’s hit another heading into the weekend. For tonight’s 3 plays, we don’t even need any team to win by multiple goals or pull off an incredible upset. However, all 3 matchups involve playoff teams, which means we should be in for some great games. So, we may be in for a sweat, but let’s check out our 3 plays for tonight’s 11-game slate. Along with our NHL mega parlay, be sure to check out all of our NHL picks for today’s action.

New Jersey Devils ML over Tampa Bay Lightning (-135)

One of the first matchups of the night is a rematch of just 2 nights ago. That game saw the Lightning getting the better of the Devils in a 4-1 win. A losing effort may cause hesitation in backing New Jersey, but Tampa simply has not been consistent lately. Even after that upset win, they’re still just 3-5-2 in their last 10 games. Meanwhile, the Devils are 7-2-1 in their last 10 matchups.

That game Tuesday night against the Lightning was also a classic let-down spot. The Devils had just defeated the Carolina Hurricanes in an incredible 3-0 win. The ‘Canes are arguably the best team in the NHL after the Boston Bruins, so that was quite the emotional win for New Jersey. For perspective, the Lightning also recently played the Hurricanes and they were dominated in a 6-0 loss. Tampa is still a playoff team and always a formidable opponent, but the Devils are coming with a great price on home ice.

Pittsburgh Penguins ML over New York Rangers (+120)

Our 2nd play is another Eastern Conference clash. This time, it’s with a classic Metro Division rivalry. The Penguins look poised for a Wild Card spot; however, catching the Rangers 1 spot ahead of them is not out of the question. That’s especially true because these teams will be playing one another in back-to-back games. The Rangers have the luxury of being at home for both games, but the Pens are full of veteran leadership with Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin.

It also doesn’t hurt that Pittsburgh just defeated New York 4 days ago. In fact, the Pens have won both meetings with the Rangers this season. Again, we expect a close game, but New York’s offense hasn’t been clicking as well as expected since the addition of Patrick Kane. They scored just 2 goals against the Pens on Sunday and just 2 in another overtime game against the terrible Buffalo Sabres goaltending. Admittedly, the Pens needed overtime for the 3rd goal against the Rangers, but they’ve scored at least 4 goals in 3 of their last 5 games. As they fight for their postseason spot, we expect Pittsburgh to pull off a slight upset.

Dallas Stars 3-way ML over Edmonton Oilers (+160)

Perhaps the most anticipated matchup of the entire night takes place in Edmonton. The Dallas Stars are looking to capture the Central Division crown, while the Oilers still have an outside chance to top the Pacific Division. It can be tough to bet against Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl, but Dallas also has a star-studded roster. With a top line of Jason Robertson, Joe Pavelski and Roope Hintz, they can compete with anyone. That’s without even mentioning their captain, Jamie Benn.

The difference between these teams is the goaltending. The Oilers have needed McDavid and Draisaitl to light up the scoreboard because they’ve allowed the 6th-most goals since the start of February. Meanwhile, the Stars have allowed the 5th-fewest goals throughout the season. Those 2 trends were on full display when Dallas traveled to Edmonton earlier this season. That was a dominant 6-2 win with a hat trick by captain Benn. We may not see another one of those, but we still anticipate another upset.
