Week 9 of the 2024 NFL regular season is on the immediate horizon and it will begin with Thursday Night Football between the Houston Texans and the struggling New York Jets. The Texans are banged up heading into the matchup, while the Jets desperately need a win to save their season, as New York has now lost 5 straight games. One of the more intriguing contests of the week pits the Detroit Lions against the Green Bay Packers in a massive NFC North clash.

Best bet for NFL Week 9: Los Angeles Rams ML (+100) over Seattle Seahawks
The Seahawks raced out to a 3-0 start this season, but things have gone downhill since then, as Seattle is just 1-4 over its last 5 games and is searching for answers defensively. In fact, the Seahawks are now just 21st in success rate allowed and 16th in EPA per pass on defense on the season. That doesn’t bode well for this week’s matchup against a rejuvenated Matthew Stafford and a Rams offense that suddenly looks like one of the better units in the league with the wide receiver duo of Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua back in the fold. On the other side of the ball, it’s clear that Geno Smith and this offense miss DK Metcalf, who was absent for this past week’s game against the Bills with a sprained right knee. It’s unclear if Metcalf will play in this week’s game, but even if he’s able to go, I’d still bank on this line closing with the Rams as slight favorites on the road. Let’s back Los Angeles at plus-money odds while we still can.
