We’ve arrived at NFL Week 8 and every team in the league has experienced at least one defeat. We had plenty of chaos during the early afternoon slate in Week 7, including the Patriots knocking off the Bills as 7.5-point home underdogs. That just goes to show you that nothing is a gimme in the NFL, and I wouldn’t expect that to change anytime soon. Make sure you keep checking our NFL predictions as we add our picks on the side and total for every game throughout the week.
Meanwhile, we currently boast a 22-16 NFL best bets record so don’t forget to give those a look as well. For now, let’s break down the NFL Week 8 opening lines and our best early bet to make.

Best early bet for NFL Week 8: Houston Texans -3 over Carolina Panthers (-110)
While the Texans have been turning heads this season, thanks to the play of CJ Stroud and coaching of DeMeco Ryans, this team still feels a tad undervalued in the market. Nowhere is that apparent more than this week, as Houston is only laying 3 points to the lowly Carolina Panthers in a game that I’d make around 4. The Texans offense has improved exponentially since Week 2 as Stroud has continued to find a rhythm with the likes of Nico Collins, Robert Woods and his other targets on the outside with each passing week.
The confidence this team has as a whole is extremely high and it’s hard not to back them off a bye against a Panthers team that is the last winless side in the NFL. As long as Houston’s defense can generate any pressure on Bryce Young, I have a hard time seeing how the Panthers keep this within a field goal.
