Week 6 of the 2024 NFL regular season is on the immediate horizon, and it’s the second in a row with a London Series contest. The Jacksonville Jaguars begin their annual 2-week trek in their home away from home across the pond, kicking off Sunday’s slate against the Chicago Bears. That is preceded by Thursday Night Football, which features the San Francisco 49ers and Seattle Seahawks adding a chapter to their NFC West rivalry. Both New York teams are also featured in primetime slots, with the Giants facing the Cincinnati Bengals and the Jets running into the AFC East rival Buffalo Bills.

Make sure you check out our NFL predictions as we add our picks on the side and total for every game throughout the week – and throughout the entire season. Also make sure you check out our NFL best bets page for our top picks. For now, let’s break down the NFL Week 6 opening lines and give our best early bet to make.

Best bet for NFL Week 6: Houston Texans -7 over New England Patriots (-115)

My early Week 5 best bet of Commanders -4.5 over Browns was the easiest of winners, and I’m confident that this one will also be a no-sweat cash. I generally don’t like giving a touchdown or more in the NFL, but there are certainly some exceptions to that rule – and this is one of those exceptions.

The Texans improved to 4-1 with an outstanding 23-20 victory over the previously 3-1 Bills in Week 5. That was without Joe Mixon, while Nico Collins got injured during the game. However, CJ Stroud still has Stefon Diggs and Tank Dell to throw the ball to and Mixon should be ready by the time this contest kicks off. The Patriots’ offense stinks. Honestly, they may not score at all against Houston and it would be a surprise if they reach double-digits. New England is 1-4 overall (0-2 at home) and their 3 most recent point totals are 3, 13 and 10. It’s hard to see this team coming anywhere close to keeping up with Stroud and the high-powered Texans.

We’ll have NFL picks for every game in Week 6!
