Best early bet for NFL Week 2: Indianapolis Colts -3 over Green Bay Packers (-110)
Anthony Richardson missed the majority of last season due to injury, but the Colts’ young quarterback has always had immense talent. That talent showed itself in Week 1, as Indianapolis was going blow for blow with one of the best teams in football, in large part thanks to Richardson’s tremendous dual-threat ability and Shane Steichen’s brilliance as an offensive mind. While the Colts ultimately came up short last Sunday, I fully believe they’ll bounce back against a Packers defense that had all sorts of issues in a Week 1 loss against the Eagles, allowing 410 yards of offense and 34 points, despite getting 3 turnovers from Philadelphia in that game.
The big news, however, is that Jordan Love is expected to miss 3-6 weeks with an MCL sprain suffered in the final minute of that contest in Brazil. This puts Packers head coach Matt LaFleur in the unenviable position of likely having to start Malik Willis, who is simply not an NFL quarterback at this stage of his career. Even on the road, I love the spot and matchup advantages the Colts have in this game. Let’s lay the field goal before it steams across this key number.
