Week 12 of the 2024 NFL regular season is on the immediate horizon and it will begin with Thursday Night Football between the AFC North rival Pittsburgh Steelers and Cleveland Browns. Sunday’s slate isn’t especially appealing on paper, but a matchup featuring the San Francisco 49ers and Green Bay Packers could be worth watching. The week wraps up with the Los Angeles Chargers hosting the Baltimore Ravens on Monday Night Football.

Best bet for NFL Week 12: Pittsburgh -4.5 over Cleveland Browns (-108)
I generally don’t like giving more than a field goal in any AFC North matchup (those always seem to be close, hard-nosed contests), but an exception has to be made given the current directions of Pittsburgh and Cleveland. The Steelers are flying high at 8-2, while the Browns are in dire straits both this season (2-8) and an overall franchise.
Will home-field advantage do anything to help? Probably not. Cleveland is 1-4 at Huntington Bank Field so far in 2024 and the fans don’t have any reason to get into it – not even against a division rival – with the season already over for all intents and purposes. Pittsburgh is 4-1 on the road, including a victory at the Washington Commanders during its current 5-game winning streak. Head coach Mike Tomlin’s team maintained momentum by earning a massive win over the Baltimore Ravens in Week 11. With both clubs playing on a short week, coaching will be a real factor – and right now I’ll side with Tomlin over pretty much anyone. Let’s get the party started early this week and make Thursday Night Football our best bet.
