New York Knicks ML over Miami Heat (+108)
Since Jalen Brunson has returned to the lineup, the Knicks have looked back to normal. They beat the Western Conference-leading Nuggets in his first game and helped the Knicks put up 134 points in a loss to the Timberwolves. That loss to Minnesota was mostly due to the Timberwolves catching fire from everywhere on the court. They shot nearly 60% from three-point land and over 60% from the field, so although New York put up 134 points, it wasn’t enough to catch up. But Julius Randle had 57 points in the loss and looked as dominant as ever, and he will be a key piece to beating the Heat.
Miami is a great defensive team with Jimmy Butler on the perimeter and Bam Adebayo in the paint, so the Knicks will need to beat Miami from downtown to secure the win. New York is playing better basketball right now, so I’ll back them on the money line.
Utah Jazz -4 over Portland Trail Blazers (-110)
There are talks of shutting down Damian Lillard for the rest of the season, so things aren’t going too well in Portland. They have lost 6 games in a row and have won only 2 games in March. During their 6-game losing streak, the Trail Blazers rank 30th in net rating and have the 4th-highest turnover rate. Portland is falling apart at the wrong time, and their hope of reaching the playoffs is starting to dwindle, and it’s looking like another year of Lillard’s talents wasted.
They will face a Jazz team that has won 4 of their last 5 games, but their most recent win was the most impressive. Utah beat a healthy Sacramento team by a score of 128-120 without Jordan Clarkson or Lauri Markkanen. For Wednesday’s game, Markkanen has been upgraded to questionable which gives me the extra confidence to back the Jazz.

LA Lakers win by 1-10 points over Phoenix Suns (+190)
The Suns were rolling with Kevin Durant in the starting lineup, but the good times didn’t last long. Durant is out for the next few weeks because of an ankle injury, and to make matters worse, Deandre Ayton has also been ruled out for Wednesday’s game. That is tough news for a Phoenix team that has lost 4 of their last 5 games while also going 0-5 ATS in that span. The Suns have the 4th-worst net rating during the last 5 games, and although the Lakers are without LeBron James, they are still a decent team with great depth.
Austin Reaves just went off for 35 points the other night, D’Angelo Russell has been excellent at creating shot opportunities and Jarred Vanderbilt has been excellent on the defensive end. And down low, Anthony Davis has been a menace on the boards. The Lakers can take advantage of the Suns without Ayton in the paint, and I think they can secure the upset, but not by much. I’m backing the Lakers for a close win and taking their winning margin to be between 1 and 10 points.
