We are continuing the first NBA week of the 2023 calendar year with a 3-game slate on Tuesday. That isn’t a huge number, of course, but it’s enough to work with as we attempt to form a successful and lucrative NBA mega parlay. The Celtics are facing the Thunder, the Bucks are hosting the Wizards and the Kings are paying a visit to the Jazz. Let’s dive into Tuesday’s NBA mega parlay.

Bucks -9.5 alternate spread (+120)

Thunder +8.5 (-110)

Jazz -5 alternate spread (+135)

Parlay odds: +887

For this 3-team parlay we are going with 2 favoritess against alternate spreads and 1 underdog plus the points. Let’s break down each of the 3 legs.

Milwaukee Bucks -9.5 alternate spread over Washington Wizards (+120)

Bradley Beal is questionable for Washington, and if he can’t go I expect Milwaukee to take care of business by double-digits. It is true that the Wizards just won inside this same building 2 days ago, but the Bucks threw out a ragtag team without Giannis Antetokounmpo and Jrue Holiday. Both Antetokounmpo and Holiday are expected to be back on Tuesday with the home team having revenge on its mind. Milwaukee is an awesome 15-4 SU at home this season and the recent loss shouldn’t even be factored in given that head coach Mike Budenholzer’s squad was extremely depleted. Back the Bucks to win big.

Oklahoma City Thunder +8.5 over Boston Celtics (-110)

Following a disappointing loss at Denver, the Celtics continue their 4-game road trip in Oklahoma City — facing a Thunder team they just barely defeated 126-122 earlier in the 2022-23 campaign at TD Garden. A poor shooting night and their inability to slow down Nikola Jokic was the difference in the Denver defeat. They have a chance to bounce back against the unpredictable Thunder, and it’s worth keeping in mind that the Celtics have covered the spread in just 1 of the last 7 H2H meetings.

Defensive force Robert Williams III is questionable because of fatigue, and they could really use him because the Thunder score the 3rd-most points per game in the NBA. One of the big reasons why the Thunder are so good at scoring from close range is, of course, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. The probable all-star is averaging 31.1 points per game over his last 9 outings and he went for 37 against the Celtics on 50% shooting in the 1st meeting of the season. Look for OKC to cover.

Jazz -5 alternate spread over Kings (+135)

Sacramento has cooled off, losing 3 of its past 5. Led by De’Aaron Fox and Domantas Sabonis, it is true that the Kings rank 2nd in points per game — trailing only the Celtics. However, it is the Kings’ defense that has caused issues for them. They rank bottom 10 of the league in opponent points per game and overall defensive rating.

That bodes well for the Jazz, as they should be able to dominate on the offensive end of the floor. In fact, Utah ranks 4th in points per game; there isn’t much separating these 2 teams in that department. The Jazz leave a lot to be desired on the defense, as well, but they are playing at home and should be inspired to turn in a decent effort on that end of the floor. Utah is 12-6 SU at home this season and should be able to improve on that record as it looks to get back in the win column.
