Thursday brings 4 more NBA games our way, including an NBA TV doubleheader featuring the Dallas Mavericks vs Brooklyn Nets and Miami Heat vs Golden State Warriors. I’ve included both of those games in my mega parlay, which you can find below.
You can read our NBA Predictions on the spread and total for all 4 games tonight, but let’s not waste any more time and jump straight into it.
Brooklyn Nets ML (+110)
Memphis Grizzlies -2.5 (-110)
Miami Heat ML (+250)
Parlay odds: +1303
Brooklyn Nets ML over Dallas Mavericks (+110)
The Nets are once again the talking point of the NBA media world as they are off to a less-than-impressive 1-3 start through 4 games played. Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving are doing their part, averaging 32.3 and 27.3 points per game respectively, but the team’s effort on defense has been questionable at times. I’m expecting that to pick up over the next few games — if not, then head coach Steve Nash could be in trouble.
Tonight they are going up against the Dallas Mavericks, who are yet to win a road game this season in 2 attempts. The Mavs are coming off a 2-point loss at New Orleans, which wasn’t a good look for them as the Pels were without 2 of their best players in Zion Williamson and Brandon Ingram. Brooklyn and Dallas did split the season series last year and on paper, the two teams are fairly evenly matched so you’d assume tonight’s game could go down to the wire. The Nets do still have Kevin Durant, who has the ability to carry them in the clutch. The Nets need to avoid slipping to 1-4 on the season, so let’s back them to win.

Memphis Grizzlies -2.5 over Sacramento Kings (-110)
In what should be the easiest pick of the parlay, we have the Memphis Grizzlies covering on the road against the winless Sacramento Kings. These two teams met 3 times last season and it was Memphis that came out on top in all 3 of them by an average of 23.6 points per game. Ja Morant has been impressive, averaging 35.3 points per game on 55% shooting from the field, which is really impressive for a point-guard. Memphis has covered in 4 of the 6 most recent meetings and they are also 10-2 ATS in their last 12 games against Pacific Division opponents.
Sacramento has missed the postseason 16 years in a row, which is currently the longest streak in the NBA. They are without a home win in 7 games dating back to last season and in the last 10 against Memphis they’ve won only 3 times. Back Memphis to continue their impressive start to the new season.

Miami Heat ML over Golden State Warriors (+205)
The Warriors are somewhat unrealistic 7.5-point favorites heading into tonight’s game. They’ve been far from impressive in their opening 4 games of the season, especially on the defensive end where they allow an NBA-high 124 points per game. In their latest loss at Phoenix, they let in 134 in a 29-point defeat, which is concerning if you are head coach Steve Kerr. Other than Steph Curry, nobody has excelled, and there are already questions about whether the veterans should take a step back in order for younger players like Poole, Kuminga, Moody and Wiseman to get more minutes.
Miami, on the other hand, relies heavily on defense to win games. They own the 7th-best opponent points per game record so far this season, allowing just 106.4 a night. They’ve also had their fair share of wins against Western Conference teams dating back to last season — they are an impressive 12-4 SU in their last 16 such games. The Warriors did win both meetings in the regular season last year and a team like Miami doesn’t forget that. They’ll be extra motivated to get one back here. In the end, Miami’s elite defense should make the difference tonight.
