The NBA postseason is here, with the play-in tournament festivities taking place before the traditional bracket format begins. It all gets started on Tuesday, with a game each in the Eastern Conference and Western Conference. The Atlanta Hawks are paying a visit to the Miami Heat before the Los Angeles Lakers host the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Below is my mega parlay for Tuesday, and also be sure to check out all of our NBA picks.

Miami Heat -9.5 alternate spread over Atlanta Hawks (+170)
The Heat and Hawks are separated by just 1 spot in the standings, which is why they are going head-to-head in the play-in tournament. However, the difference between these teams isn’t as close as the standings suggest. Atlanta came somewhat close to not even getting into the play-in tournament, whereas Miami is disappointed to have missed out on getting a top-6 seed and an automatic spot in the real playoffs. The Heat took the regular-season series 3-1, including back-to-back wins during a 3-day stretch in March – 1 at home and 1 on the road. They should be able to take care of business again on Tuesday night, and it probably won’t even be close.
Los Angeles Lakers -9.5 alternate spread over Minnesota Timberwolves (+105)
On the court, things are going relatively well for the Timberwolves. They have won 3 in a row and 7 of their last 10 games. Off the court (or technically on the sidelines), it’s a bit of a different story. Rudy Gobert threw a punch at teammate Ryan Anderson during a timeout in Minnesota’s regular-season finale this past Sunday. Gobert has since been suspended for Tuesday’s contest and will return for either a second play-in game or Game 1 of a first-round series against the Memphis Grizzlies. It will probably be the former. After all, the T-Wolves would be underdogs on the road even if they had Gobert at their disposal. The Lakers are 6-1 in their last 7, 9-2 in their last 11 and most importantly they have a rare clean bill of health. This very well could be a rout for the Lakers.

Timberwolves vs Lakers over 231 points (-110)
First and foremost, Minnesota is without Gobert. He is one of the best rim protectors in the league, which would be especially important when facing LeBron James and Anthony Davis. These teams faced each other on March 31 in Minnesota, where Los Angeles prevailed 123-111. That was with LeBron scoring only 18 points, as Davis went for 38. It’s hard to see the Timberwolves containing Davis less than 2 weeks later, this time on the road and without Gobert.
