The summer break is officially over as the Philadelphia 76ers and Boston Celtics open up the 77th NBA season on Tuesday night. Game 1 of 1230 tips off at 7:30 pm ET on TNT and for this occasion I’ve prepared a same game parlay which you can find below.
Make sure you also check our full spread and point total NBA predictions for part two of the opening night doubleheader on TNT between the Lakers and Warriors.
Let’s get into it!
Philadelphia 76ers Money Line (+126)
Jaylen Brown to score 25+ points (+112)
James Harden to record 12+ assists (+370)
Parlay odds: +1871
Philadelphia 76ers Money Line (+126)
With a fresh start following the departure of Ben Simmons, the Philadelphia 76ers come into this season after a full training camp that involved both their superstars James Harden and Joel Embiid. The team is in great spirits as they head to TD Garden for a showdown with last year’s Eastern Conference finalists, the Boston Celtics. Since the start of the 2019 season, Philly has covered the spread 9 times in 11 meetings (81.8%) and they are also 8-3 on the money line (72.7%) against the Celtics.
I expect them to be a much more motivated team on opening night, especially Embiid, who missed out on the MVP award to Nikola Jokic last season. In his last 3 contests against Boston the big man is averaging 28.3 points per game and in only one of those games he has logged more than 32 minutes, which is insane production. Against a Celtics team that will be without their starting center Robert Williams I expect him to put up big numbers again and guide his 76ers to a road win in the season opener.

Jaylen Brown to score 25+ points (+112)
Jaylen Brown loves playing the 76ers for some reason. He has scored over 20 points in 3 straight against them and in 2 of those games he had at least 25 points. If we expand that to his last 8 meetings with them he’s gone over 25 points a total of 5 times on really solid efficiency. I’d argue he had a way better series in the Finals than Jayson Tatum and I expect that to carry over into the regular season. Brown will be guarded by James Harden for most of the night, a player who doesn’t really put that much emphasis into stopping opponents, which is another factor to consider. The majority of Boston’s attack will go through Brown and I’m hoping he delivers on opening night.

James Harden to record 12+ assists (+370)
If we disregard his defensive attributes (or the lack of them), Harden is coming into this season as the player who has the most to prove out of anyone in the NBA. The 13-year veteran is still looking for that elusive ring that he needs to validate his career and at the tender age of 33 time is slowly running out. This offseason he took a major pay cut so that the 76ers could sign some quality players to give himself the best chance of winning.
I think we will see that on full display as shooters such as P.J. Tucker could get some wide-open looks on Tuesday in Boston. In his last game against the Celtics the Beard had 11 assists and if he look at his last 4 regular-season debuts Harden has always posted solid numbers. If the 76ers want to get off to a winning start in the 2022-23 campaign, Harden will need to put up at least a double-double and I think at +370 odds backing him to record at least 12 dimes is a solid bet.
