The Knicks have probably their best chance in a while of ending an 8-game losing streak in head-to-head meetings vs their cross-town rivals the Nets, as the two teams collide for the 2nd time this season. Tip-off from Barclays Center is at 5.30 pm ET on ABC, right after the Denver Nuggets vs Philadelphia 76ers game.

New York Knicks 1 – 10 Win Margin (+200)
With the latest injury to Ben Simmons, the Brooklyn Nets are basically a one man wrecking crew right now. All of their hopes lie in the hands of one man and that is Kyrie Irving. I’m not sure that’ll work against one of the most consistent road teams in the NBA this season. The Knicks are 17-8 ATS away from home, they’ve covered the spread in 12 of their last 15 outings. They’ve also done well vs Brooklyn covering in 14 of the last 20 meetings, plus they come into tonight’s game after a huge win at Boston the other night. They’ve now beaten 2 playoff teams from the East in back-to-back games, why not add a 3rd one? Brooklyn has struggled losing at Philadelphia and against a very bad Detroit team in their own building. Without Kevin Durant this team is nowhere near the one we saw climb up to 2nd place in the standings. I think it’s time the Knicks finally end their losing streak in head-to-head meetings which has lasted for 8 games in a row.
Kyrie Irving Over 6.5 Assists (-104)
Kyrie Irving’s usage rate has gone up significantly ever since KD went out with his injury, but now that Simmons is also not playing, that’ll be the case even more. Irving dropped 40 points in the Nets’ recent loss vs Detroit, for his second 40 point game in 4 outings. On the assist side of things he’s cleared this line 3 times in his last 5 outings, while over his last 9 games overall he’s averaging 6.9 per game. It also helps that he’s gotten 7 assists in both of the last 2 games against the Knicks, I expect him to log at least 40 minutes here as he doesn’t really have a viable back-up with all the injuries going on right now.

Jalen Brunson 2+ Made Threes (-210)
Ever since joining the Knicks as a free agent, Brunson has been a revelation. I’d say he’s even exceeded expectations so far, and the last 10 games have proven just that. He’s averaging 28 points per game while shooting 46.9% from the field and 47.1% from downtown, those are All-Star type numbers right there. Consistency is the word that would perfectly describe his shooting from three-point land this month. He’s averaged 2.5 makes per game so far and has successfully cleared this line 11 times in 13 games played. Over their last 5 games, the Nets rank 5th worst in the NBA in opponent three-point percentage allowing 43.3% of made shots from distance. In their last game vs Detroit they allowed Saddiq Bey, Alec Burks and Killian Hayes to all make 2 threes, I think we can all agree that Brunson is on a different level offensively compared to those 3 players. Look for him to do some damage here.
