These are the 4th and 5th-ranked defenses in the NBA in terms of efficiency this season, but despite that we have the projected total set at 234 points. That might be due to the fact that 9 of the last 10 meetings have gone over the total, and the teams have combined to average of 242.7 points during that stretch. The centers, Lopez and Valanciunas, went crazy on offense in the first meeting, so even if the Pels are missing Zion Williamson I think we can still expect a ton of points to be scored. The teams also have identical records of 16-8 on the O/U at home and on the road, so that’s working in our favor as well. The last 6 meetings at Fiserv Forum have gone over, and that trend should continue tonight.

Khris Middleton to score 20+ points (+700)
Getting Khris Middleton going will be crucial for the Bucks’ season. We saw just how much they missed him in last year’s playoff series against the Celtics, and having a consistent third option can get you a long way in the postseason. Middleton has just recovered from a knee injury that’s caused him to miss the first couple of months of the season, and he’s progressed slowly in the 3 games he’s played this week. Playing on a minutes restriction, he has upped his scoring in each of the 3 games. He finished with 17 against Indiana on Friday, scoring on an efficient 7 of 13 attempts from the field. He’s had some really big games against the Pelicans over the years, and in his last 7 games against them dating back to 2018 he’s cleared this line a total of 5 times, so I’m very optimistic for tonight’s game. It should be high-scoring and the first meeting of the season saw 247 points and if that’s the case tonight Middleton could have a big game.
