There are only 2 games in the NBA on Thursday, but it promises to be an exciting night with a pair of TNT matchups coming our way. The Pelicans and Nuggets will meet up for the 4th and final time this season and you can catch the game live from 10:00 pm ET. I’ve prepared a Same Game Parlay which you can find below.

New Orleans Pelicans +7 (-110)
New Orleans had a 5-game win streak snapped against the Golden State Warriors at Chase Center on Tuesday. It was a frustrating defeat as they led by as many as 22 points but were outscored by 28 points over the final 24 minutes of play. The oddsmakers aren’t giving them much of a chance tonight and the spread has been set at 7 points, which is a bit too high in my opinion. The regular-season series stands at 2-1 to and the Nuggets are pretty much safe in the #1 seed with a 3.5-game lead, so there’s not that much pressure on them to win. Meanwhile, the Pels are still fighting to finish in the play-in tournament and a win would be huge for them following the Mavericks’ loss last night. Over the last 8 meetings at Ball Arena, the Pelicans have managed to cover the spread 6 times, which is also very encouraging. I think it will be a close game, but Denver could win by 6 points and the Pelicans will still cover, so let’s take them plus the extra points.

Trey Murphy III to score 20+ points (+260)
Trey Murphy III has been on quite a run over his last 10 games, solidifying his place as the #3 scoring option for the Pelicans, at least until Zion Williamson returns from injury. He’s averaging 20.8 points per game during that stretch, shooting over 53% from the field and almost 49% from three while also knocking down 92.9% of his free throws. Just 3 games ago he went 10-for-12 from 3-point land in the win over the Clippers, his second game of at least 9 threes in the last 2 weeks. Having Brandon Ingram and C.J. McCollum playing alongside has really helped Murphy find space for open shots. I’m expecting the Nuggets gameplan to mainly revolve around stopping that duo, so Murphy could be in line for another high-scoring game. He has cleared this line twice in his last 3 outings, it should be a high-paced game tonight at Ball Arena so he ought to get 13-15 shots which should result in at least 20 points scored.

Jamal Murray to score 20+ points (-200)
The Nuggets aren’t going deep in the playoffs without Jamal Murray playing to his potential. He has been on a solid run over his last 10 games, averaging 19.6 points per game and reaching that number shouldn’t be too hard against the Pelicans as he’s had some pretty solid games against them this season. In 3 meetings he’s averaging 25 points on 45.8% shooting from the field and 46.4% from three. He also makes 89% of his free-throw attempts against them, so if for some reason the shot isn’t falling from distance he can take it to the hole and punish the Pels from the charity stripe if fouled. Against Philadelphia 2 days ago he had 19 points, but prior to that he was on a run of 3 games in 4 outings with 20+ points. New Orleans hasn’t been particularly good in defending the three-ball over the last 3 games with opponents making 37.7% of their attempts. Let’s hope Murray can take advantage of that and have his 5th 20+ point game in the last 6 meetings with the Pelicans.
