The Charlotte Hornets are coming into this game on the back of a promising road win over the Los Angeles Lakers. They will be travelling to take on a reeling Portland Trail Blazers squad who have lost 3 straight games. They have also been for from dominant at home too, with a 7-6 record this season. With LaMelo Ball back at the helm of the team, the Hornets have picked up their pace, ranking 3rd in that category over the last 10 games. Considering they have had an extended rest period over Christmas, they should have no issues getting up and down the floor tonight. The host’s offense has not managed more than 107 in their last 2 games and if the Hornets can get easy scores in transition here, they may just be able to outgun the Trail Blazers.

Houston Rockets ML (+235) over Chicago Bulls

The Chicago Bulls are currently riding a 3-game winning streak, but those games could have gone either way. Their last 2 games were decided by a one basket. That will give hope to a Houston Rockets team, which has lost each of their last 2 games by 6-point margins. Over the last 10 games, the Bulls are just 22nd in the league in defensive rating, something this young Rockets side could look to exploit. They Rockets are 6th in the league in points in the paint over that stretch. With Nikola Vucevic not being the greatest rim protector, the visitors should be able to play to their strengths. Do not be surprised to see them come away with a narrow win tonight.

Indiana Pacers ML (+120) over New Orleans Pelicans

The Indiana Pacers will be taking on a very injury stricken New Orleans Pelicans squad tonight. Brandon Ingram and Herbert Jones have been ruled out. Zion Williamson is doubtful due to conditioning while Trey Murphy III, Larry Nance Jr. and Dyson Daniels are all listed as questionable. That should give a relatively healthy Pacers squad a great chance of extending their 2-game winning streak tonight. Over the last 10 games, the Pacers are 13th in the league in offensive rating and it is tough to see who for the Pelicans will step up to help them match it. With Jonas Valanciunas facing a great defensive center in Myles Turner on the inside, the hosts may not have enough help around CJ McCollum to help them defend their home court.
