NBA Monday parlay at mega (+1357 odds) today 1/9: Back the Bulls

Chicago Bulls forward DeMar DeRozan (11) during the fourth quarter against the Philadelphia 76ers at Wells Fargo Center.

Welcome to another magnificent Monday in the NBA! We have a 6-game slate in the association tonight, and I’ve put together a 3-leg mega parlay that pays out at over 13/1 odds at DraftKings Sportsbook!

Check out our NBA predictions for all today’s games.

Bulls ML (+300)

Bucks -2.5 (-110)

Lakers +9 (-110)

Parlay odds: +1357

Chicago Bulls ML (+300) over Boston Celtics

With only 12 losses, the Celtics have been one of the toughest teams to beat in the association. However, the Chicago Bulls are responsible for 2 of Boston’s losses. Chicago leads the season series 2-1, and the Bulls have the chance to be the first team in the league to beat the Celtics 3 times this year. They’ve defeated Boston by 14 and 18, and their loss was by just 4 points. DeMar DeRozan has been the key for the Bulls’ offense, as the veteran averages 32 points per game in the season series. While DeRozan has been excellent from mid-range, Nikola Vucevic has been excellent in the paint.

He logged 23 rebounds in the first matchup and has dominated the old-but-reliable Al Horford. Boston is expected to be without reigning Defensive Player of the Year Marcus Smart, which could create easier opportunities for Chicago on the offensive side of the ball. I like taking the points with the Bulls, but their money line has excellent value for this mega parlay.

Milwaukee Bucks -2.5 (-110) over New York Knicks

The Bucks are in an excellent position to snap New York’s 4-game winning streak on Monday. Milwaukee’s last game was against the struggling Charlotte Hornets, who were 10-point underdogs, and not only did the Hornets cover the spread, but they beat the Bucks by 29 points. Charlotte was knocking down everything, and although it was a bad loss for the Bucks, it gave Giannis Antetokounmpo the chance to rest as he played only 22 minutes. Antetokounmpo played the most of any Milwaukee starter, so the Bucks’ starting 5 should be well-rested for this contest.

The rested Bucks starters will face a Knicks lineup that will be without RJ Barrett, who is dealing with a finger injury. This feels like a perfect bounce-back spot for the Bucks as Antetokounmpo has the chance to dominate at Madison Square Garden.

Los Angeles Lakers +9 (-110) over Denver Nuggets

The second-longest winning streak in the association belongs to the Los Angeles Lakers. They have won 5 games in a row and 6 of their last 7. Many expected to see Los Angeles implode after Anthony Davis’s injury, but it’s been the opposite. They’ve thrived thanks to their deep bench and the drastic improvement of Thomas Bryant. During their 5-game winning streak, the Lakers rank 4th in offensive rating and 8th in defensive rating. However, the Nuggets are nearly identical in both factors. The difference in this game should be in transition as Los Angeles ranks 1st in pace while Denver is 27th. The Lakers have found success in pushing the pace and catching teams off guard.

One thing that neither offense will be relying on is perimeter shots, as the Lakers and Nuggets rank 28th and 29th in 3-pointers attempted per game. This should be a hard-fought game in the paint and a close contest, so I’ll take the points with the Lakers.
