Denver Nuggets -8.5 (-108)
The Nuggets completely dominated the first game of the series. They did not lose a single quarter on the way to a 29-point win. It was their third win over the Minnesota Timberwolves in Denver this season, with two of those coming by a margin of at least 25 points. Both Karl-Anthony Towns and Anthony Edwards struggled to find their game on offense, as Edwards has now shot at 40% or below from the field in 4 of his last 6 games. In fact, in 4 games against the Nuggets, he has scored over 20 points just once. With Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Aaron Gordon being 2 of the leaders in the Nuggets starting 5 in defensive rating, they should be able to contain the Timberwolves stars once more. Denver is simply a matchup nightmare for the Timberwolves across the board, so I’ll back them to dominate once more at home.

Michael Porter Jr. Over 2.5 made threes (-170)
I had MPJ in my SGP parlay bet for Game 1 and he fully delivered with 4 threes in 31 minutes played. Only once over his last 10 games has he has failed to connect on 3 threes, and during this stretch he’s making 3.7 of them per game on an insane 43% efficiency. With those type of numbers there’s really no reason not to include him in tonight’s SGP as well.
Minnesota clearly has issues defending him, as he’s knocked down 4 threes in 2 straight games against the Timberwolves. The combination of speed and length Porter Jr. possesses makes him almost impossible to stop. The Timberwolves finished the regular season ranking just 24th in the NBA in opponent three-point percentage allowing 36.9% of shots to be made per game.
Aaron Gordon to score 15+ points (-110)
Gordon played only 23 minutes in Game 1 and made the most out of it finishing with 13 points. With Jokic, Porter Jr. and Jamal Murray leading the charge on offense on most nights, Gordon has the luxury of going under the radar which helps his production a lot. He does the dirty work for the Nuggets, especially on the offensive glass. He isn’t afraid of contact either, as he had the most free throw attempts by a Nugget in the series opener. That kind of aggressiveness should also be noted as we back him to score 15 points.
Gordon is averaging 13.4 per game over his last 10 on a solid 46% shooting. Against the Timberwolves he’s gone over 20 points twice in the last 5 meetings if we include the regular season. A balanced team effort got the Nuggets the win in Game 1, so I see no reason why they won’t stick to that in Game 2 as well. Back Gordon to have a productive night.
