Like most Lithuanians, I started watching basketball from the age of six. I'm based out in London and played basketball at the University of Lincoln here in the UK. I had always had an interest in the NBA but things really took off in the summer of 2010. That year Linas Kleiza led Lithuania to 3rd place at the World Championships and signed with the Toronto Raptors to replace the departing Chris Bosh. I've been a Raptors fan since that day and I've not missed a game since. I've been handicapping games for more than a decade, specializing in player props. While the race for the play-in places in the Eastern Conference seems all but decided, the race within those positions is heating up. The Toronto Raptors, Atlanta Hawks and Chicago Bulls are separated by just 1 game for the 8th, 9th and 10th positions. Ahead of them are the Miami Heat and the Brooklyn Nets, who are 3 games clear. However, with both losing their most recent games, the Raptors could further reduce that gap with a home win over the Heat tonight.

Take a look at my Heat vs Raptors Same Game Parlay below, and afterwards remember to check out the rest of our NBA predictions for Tuesday’s 10-game slate.

Pascal Siakam to score 25+ points (+135)

Fred VanVleet 4+ made threes (+115)

Pascal Siakam to score 25+ points (+135)

Pascal Siakam has been in great form for the Raptors. Over the last 6 games he has been able to record 25 or more points in 4 occasions. With Bam Adebayo likely to be tasked with dealing with the size of Jakob Poeltl, the Raptors star is likely to be left going up against Kevin Love. The Heat forward has by far the worst defensive rating of his team’s starters and should have issues staying in front of Siakam off the bounce. The 34-year old is now fairly slow-footed and does not have the length to affect Siakam’s mid-range jump-shots. Siakam managed 23 points in each of the 2 games he played against the Heat in October and in a more favourable matchup, he should be able to manage at least 1 field goal more.

Fred VanVleet 4+ made threes (+115)

With Gary Trent Jr. being unavailable in recent games, Fred VanVleet has taken on more of the perimeter shooting burden. He has been incredibly consistent too. Over the last 10 games he has knocked down at least 3 triples in 9 contests. I expect him to go at least 1 better tonight. Over that same stretch of games, the Heat are 27th in the NBA in both opponent 3-pointers made and opponent 3-point percentage. They should be the perfect opponent for the Raptors guard to have a great shooting night. The hosts are well positioned to exploit Love on the floor, which should make the Heat defense collapse into the paint. That should create clean looks for the Raptors sharpshooter.

Jakob Poeltl to record 10+ rebounds (-110)

Over the last 10 games Jakob Poeltl has been a rebounding machine for the Raptors. He has averaged 10.1 per game, managing double-figure rebounds in 7 of those contests. The Austrian is 6th in the NBA in offensive rebounds per game. Over the last 10 outings the Heat are 20th in opponent rebounds, which should allow Poeltl to pad his numbers. On the other end of the floor, Adebayo is able to step out to the mid-range but no further. That should allow the Austrian to maintain great rebounding position. Over that same stretch of games the Raptors are 9th in defensive rating so look for them to be able to force stops tonight. Poeltl should be the man cleaning them up.

We also have a Same Game Parlay for tonight’s Pelicans vs Warriors game!
