Jayson Tatum to score 30+ points (-120)

Jayson Tatum has already made a name for himself in these playoffs with a couple of spectacular performances, but once again the Celtics are depending on him to lift them after a disastrous showing in Game 1 of this series. Tatum was nowhere to be found in the 4th quarter of that game, failing to record a single shot while turning the ball over 3 times in the final 3 minutes. Despite all of that he still had 30 points on the night, which gives me confidence that he will bounce back with an even better display in Game 2. He has cleared this line 3 times in his last 4 outings, while against Miami he averaged 30.8 points per game in the 4 regular-season meetings. If he is able to clean up his turnovers and step up a bit more in the clutch, the Celtics will be in a good position to even up this series.

Jimmy Butler over 6.5 rebounds (+110)

Jimmy Buckets put on another show in Game 1 as he recorded 35 points, 5 rebounds, 7 assists and 6 steals in what was arguably one of his best performances as a member of the Miami Heat. He did all that in 43 minutes while playing on a bum ankle, showing no signs of slowing down. Both teams shot the lights-out on Wednesday, connecting on over 50% of their attempts and combining to score 26 threes. That limited the rebounding opportunities for a lot of players, including Butler, who had a mini 2-game streak of 7+ rebounds snapped in that game. I’m expecting that trend to change tonight as both teams will be a lot sharper on defense which should hopefully result in more rebounds. Other than Adebayo, Butler is the most important rebounder for Miami. He averaged 11 per game in 2 regular-season meetings against the Celtics, so getting to 7 sounds very realistic.

Bam Adebayo to record 1+ blocks (-130)

Although he didn’t record a block in the series opener, Bam Adebayo contributed a lot in the Game 1 victory for Miami and he has had a block in 7 of his last 9 games. After the last 2 games in which he failed to block a shot, Adebayo responded with back-to-back games with at least 1 rejection. The Celtics relied heavily on paint points in that game, scoring 62 of them, and I don’t expect them to shy away from that strategy with Game 2 basically being a must-win game for them. Adebayo isn’t really known to be a shot-blocker, but in this series head coach Eric Spoelstra will be using him as his main rim protector a lot more than usual. You may remember his signature block from the bubble playoffs in 2020 when he denied Jayson Tatum at the rim, so let’s hope he can do so once again tonight in Game 2.
