Memphis Grizzlies 1-10 win margin over LA Lakers (+240)
Similar to the Minnesota Timberwolves last night, this is most likely the game of the season for the Memphis Grizzlies. They aren’t in a situation where they’re trying to avoid the sweep like the T’Wolves, but going down 3-1 in a series makes it extremely difficult to come back. Out of 270 teams in NBA Playoffs history, only 13 of them have come back, so the odds of Ja and company coming back would be very slim in that scenario. The only reason why Memphis lost Game 3 was that they fell behind big early in the game and it was just impossible to come back from that.
Adjustments should be made in Game 4 and this team has been battle-tested far too many times this season for them to go away so easily. The Lakers will also have a say in this game as both AD and LeBron produced solid numbers in the win on Saturday. However, after going up 35-9 in the 1st quarter, LA got outscored 92-76 the rest of the way. Memphis grabbed 7 more offensive rebounds, shot better from three-point land, and scored 26 points off turnovers. This is still a top 3 team in terms of defensive rating, so I believe they’ll have what it takes to even things out here.

Ja Morant to record 8+ assists (-150)
Morant made a triumphant return to the lineup with a huge stat line of 45 points, 13 assists and 9 rebounds. That’s exactly the news Grizzlies fans were hoping for, as without him it’s hard to expect them to stay competitive in this series. I would argue Ja’s importance to this team is like no other player’s towards his team in the entire NBA. Everything goes through him on the offensive end and the Grizzlies failed miserably in Game 1 only because Ja had just 2 assists on the night.
Over his last 10 games, Morant is averaging 7.4 dimes per game and has cleared this line 6 times. After a 45-point effort in Game 3 and a loss, I think Morant is well aware his team will have a better chance of winning if he concentrates on getting his role players involved. The bench scored just 12 points in Sunday’s loss, and if that goes up to the 30-point range then Memphis should be in a solid position here.

LeBron James to record 1+ steals (-300)
LeBron James has gotten a lot of criticism during the regular season for taking possessions off on the defensive end, but so far in this series we’ve seen a different approach from the king. James has recorded at least 1 steal in all 3 meetings with the Grizzlies, and if we count the regular season he’s now had at least 1 steal in 5 straight games and in 8 of his last 9 played.
A big reason why he has been so successful is the Grizzlies’ carelessness on the offensive end. In Game 3 they committed a total of 18 turnovers, while for the series they’re averaging 13.3 per game. During the regular season, they were ranked in the bottom half of the NBA on the road, averaging 14.4 turnovers per game — poor tendencies like that don’t just go away overnight. Expect LeBron to be very active and continue his steals streak in this one.
