Cleveland Cavaliers -6 (-110)
After a tough loss to Miami at home, the Cavs have now exchanged wins and losses in their last 7 games, so consistency is the biggest issue they are facing. Playing at home might help them solve that issue, as they’ve won 15 of 20 games there and are 21-6 SU for the season. Donovan Mitchell’s play has fallen off substantially in the last 5 games as he’s averaging just 15.2 points per game and shooting 37% from the field and 30% from downtown. I think he’s due a breakout game soon, as he has has too much quality to continue playing this poorly for a long stretch. Cleveland will be motivated to even up the regular-season series after they lost a close one in Memphis 2 weeks ago. The Grizzlies are just too inconsistent for me to even consider backing them here. This will be the second game in 2 nights for them following the loss to Portland yesterday. Even with a struggling Mitchell, the Cavs have been really good at home, and I’ll be backing them to cover.

Memphis Grizzlies under 108.5 points (-104)
Playing on zero rest days hasn’t been ideal for the Grizzlies this season. They are just 4-3 SU in those 7 games while averaging just 109.3 points per game. That’s a significant drop-off from the 116.6 per game they normally average, ranking 8th in the NBA. They’re going up against the 2nd-best defense in the league this season with the Cavs allowing just 107.8 points per 100 possessions entering tonight’s game. They also just held their last 4 of their last 5 opponents to 105 or fewer points, which is a good indicator that they like to rely on their defense to win games. Running with the Grizzlies isn’t an option, they tried that in the first meeting of the season and ended up losing 115-114. Cleveland will look to clog the paint, as they normally do. Teams are averaging just 45.9 points against them from that area this season, which is 3rd-best in the NBA and might present a problem for Morant as he likes to attack the basket. Memphis has also struggled making threes lately, at just 8.7 per game in the last 3 games, far too little to go over their total in tonight’s game.

Darius Garland to score 25+ points (+170)
I’ve mentioned the recent play of Donovan Mitchell, and thankfully for the Cavaliers their other All-Star Darius Garland has been carrying the offense during Mitchell’s struggles. He is averaging 23.2 points per game in his last 10 outings while shooting 46.7% from the field and over 41% from the perimeter. It gets even better at home, where he’s at 24.6 per game on 50% from the field and 44% from three, while also making 90% of his free throws. He can hurt teams in many ways, and the Grizzlies felt that in the first meeting when he had 24 against them on the road. He’s cleared this line twice in his last 4 games, and with Memphis currently missing Adams on the inside that’s his chance to attack the basket and get some points from close range. The Grizzlies are also 6th-worst in the league on the road in opponent 3-point percentage, and unless Mitchell has a breakout game I think Garland will be the focal point of the offense once more.
