LA Lakers ML (+110)
The Lakers made headlines for all the wrong reasons following their loss at Boston over the weekend. Last night they followed it up with another loss in Brooklyn, but both LeBron James and Anthony Davis sat out that game to give their team the best shot at winning tonight at Madison Square Garden. After dropping 40+ points already 4 times in January, you’d think that James will try to put on another show in the world’s most famous arena. He’s gone over 30 points in 2 of the last 4 meetings, and the last time he faced the Knicks he finished with a triple double as LA won in overtime. In head-to-head meetings the Lakers are 4-2 SU over the last 6 games, and they’ve also covered in 5 of 7 games on the road. The Knicks won against Boston and Cleveland last week, but they are only 2-5 SU in their last 7 overall. The absence of Mitchell Robinson has been huge for them as their defense just isn’t there on the interior and the Lakers will look to capitalize on that as well. I have the road team coming out on top in a close finish.

Julius Randle to score 30+ points (+155)
As dominant as LeBron has been on offense, he hasn’t made any significant impact on the defensive end for a while. Facing his former team, Julius Randle will look to do some damage. He’s hard 30 or more points in 3 of the last 4 meetings against LA, and he’s been the best Knicks player for a while. Over his last 10 games he’s averaging 26.1 points per game on almost 48% shooting from the field and 36% from 3-point land. He’s cleared the 30-point mark 3 times in his last 5 games, while over his last 3 games he’s knocked down 14 threes. The Lakers defense ranks in the bottom 10 in majority of the statistical categories this season. Getting AD back helps them a bit, but Randle should be too hot to handle.

Jalen Brunson over 1.5 made threes (-172)
Jalen Brunson has emerged as the 2nd-best scorer on the Knicks roster this season. The injury to RJ Barrett plus his stellar play over the last month or so has elevated him to heights even the Knicks weren’t sure he had in him. He’s shooting the 3-ball at an exceptional 46.5% over his last 10 games, while at home in 25 games played that number is very close to 40%. For comparison Stephen Curry is at 42.2% this season. Brunson is averaging 2.3 threes per game in January, he’s made 2 threes in 11 of 14 games played. Against the Lakers he’s averaging exactly 2 threes per game over his last 3 games. This leaky LA defense has allowed 120+ points in 3 of their last 4 games, they are also allowing 13.8 threes per game on the road this season, which ranks 5th-worst in the NBA. In a high-scoring game, Brunson should have no issues knocking down at least 2 threes.
