Just two days before his 38th birthday, LeBron James and his LA Lakers take on his former team the Miami Heat in South Beach. Tip-off is live on NBA TV from 7.30 pm ET, to spice things up I’ve prepared a tasty Same Game Parlay which is available below.

Visit our NBA Predictions page for picks on the side and total for the rest of Wednesday’s action, including Part 2 of the NBA TV double-header between the Denver Nuggets and Sacramento Kings.

Let’s jump into our SGP for this contest.

Dennis Schroder to Score 20+ Points (+290)

Tyler Herro to score 25+ Points (+115)

Same Game Parlay odds: +772

Dennis Schroder to Score 20+ Points (+290)

With the injury report listing Lebron James as “questionable” we won’t know his status right up until tip-off, this being a 2nd night of a back-to-back for the Lakers there’s a chance he might be rested here. That scenario would open the door for Dennis Schroder to become the 1st option on offense for the Lakers. In the last 2 games without James, Schroder put up 18 points against the Toronto Raptors and 30 against the Phoenix Suns in just 28 and 29 minutes played, which is high level production.

With Anthony Davis already out of the line-up for a while now, the Lakers are severely limited on offense, but their high pace strategy has them scoring around 120 points on a nightly basis. We all know what Schroder is capable of doing, he’s shooting 45% from the field and almost 35% from three this month and is currently on a streak of 7 games in a row scoring at least one three. He left a ton of money on the table when he opted not to re-sign with the Lakers a few years ago, hoping to get a better deal. That hasn’t happened yet, so every opportunity he gets where he is the number 1 option will be added motivation to put on a show for potential suitors.

Tyler Herro to score 25+ Points (+115)

Herro is 2nd on the team in scoring for Miami averaging 21.1 points per game. He’s been a streaky shooter over his past 10 games averaging 24.2 points per game. In his last game against Minnesota he went ice cold from three failing to hit 8 threes in a row, which isn’t all that bad when you think about it. Normally when a player misses 3 or 4 shots he will shy away from taking them, not Herro. He has that “shooters shoot” mentality and he won’t be discouraged, even if he misses 10 in a row. He’s knocking down 4.4 threes per game in the month of December, with both Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo listed on the injury report there is a good chance neither of them plays tonight. Just like with Schroder, Herro will become the focal point of the offense for Miami. The last time he played the Lakers he finished with 27 points, while knocking down 5 threes. Fingers crossed for a similar performance tonight.
