Memphis Grizzlies 1 – 10 Win Margin (+190)
Game 1 looked like a scene from a horror movie for the Grizzlies as they lost Ja Morant to an injury and the Lakers destroyed them down the stretch in a 128-112 loss. Memphis is hoping they’ve spent all their bad luck in that series opener on Sunday, moving forward it cannot get any worse. At 35-6 SU at FedEx Forum they finished the regular season with the best home mark in the NBA, that loss over the weekend was only their 2nd in a home game over their last 16 played. Regardless of everything that transpired in that game, the oddsmakers still have the Grizz as the favorites here and in that scenario this team is 17-3 SU in their last 20 games played. The Lakers got 29 and 23 points out of Rui Hachimura and Austin Reaves, I really doubt those two can continue playing like that on a consistent basis moving forward. Memphis was just too good at home during the regular season to lose back-to-back home games to the Lakers here, I expect them to come out on top in a close finish here.

Jaren Jackson Jr. to Score 20+ Points (-250)
With Morant’s status up in the air, it’s pretty obvious that the likes of Jaren Jackson Jr., Desmond Bane and even Dillon Brooks will have to step up their game offensively to compensate. JJJ did his part in the opener with 31 points on an efficient 13-for-21 from the field, not bad for a Defensive Player of the Year winner. Getting that award prior to tip-off should lift both him and crowd ahead of Game 2, the Grizzlies need to play a perfect game here to even the series. Jackson Jr. is averaging 25 points per game over his last 10 outings, he’s gone over 30 points 5 times during that stretch so the least he can to here is to score 20 to help his team. Despite holding Memphis to 113 points in Game, the Lakers have shown weakness on the inside which has been their Achilles heel all season long. They finished the regular season allowing 52.6 points per game from the painted area, that was only the 22nd best mark in the league. Expect JJJ to do some damage here.
Desmond Bane Over 2.5 Made Threes (-160)
Speaking of doing damage, Desmond Bane has been doing just that from the perimeter over his last 10 games. He capped off the regular season by scoring at least 3 threes in 6 of his last 9 games and he continued right where he left off on Sunday by going 3-for-10 from deep against the Lakers. During this stretch he’s shooting at a very impressive 42.1% efficiency, and even if Morant plays you’d think he won’t be able to put up shots with an injured shooting hand. That opens up the door for more attempts for everyone across the board, including Bane who has attempted double-digit shots from deep in 2 of his last 4 games. Although LA has been decent at defending the perimeter this season, they’ll be no match for the hot hand of Bane here.
