Milwaukee Bucks 1-10 win margin (+170)
The Bucks suffered an unexpected loss prior to tonight’s game as the lowly Houston Rockets took them down 97-92 on the road. It was their 4th road game in 5 outings, and tonight they return back home where they are a convincing 12-3 SU this season. Coming their way are the Warriors, who have 2 wins and 11 losses on the road this season, looking nowhere near the team they were last season when they went all the way.
The Bucks won the last 2 meetings at Fiserv Forum, and are also 8-3 SU in their last 11 games against Western Conference opposition. The loss at Houston was a fluke. Tonight’s game has the potential to be a close one, but I believe the Bucks will pull it out in the end.
Giannis Antetokounmpo over 0.5 made threes (-142)
Giannis and three-pointing doesn’t exactly go hand in hand, but he’s been hitting them consistently over the past 8 games. During that stretch, he has 4 games with 2 threes made and 5 games with at least 1 three made, while averaging 1.1 makes per contest. His percentage is at a very decent 36%, well above the 28.7% he’s shooting them at for his career. Prior to the game against Houston, he had a run of 3 games in a row with a made three, and going up against the Warriors I believe there’s a really good chance he makes at least one shot.
Golden State’s perimeter defense has fallen off a bit, allowing 36.8% of made threes over their last 3 games, which would be the 7th-worst percentage among all teams in the NBA. On the road, they allow 39.8% for the entire season (4th-worst mark in the league), and Giannis has also made a three in their last meeting. In 3 of his last 4 against Golden State the Greek Freak has at least 30 points. The Bucks have to bounce back with a win here and Giannis putting up numbers is the way to go.
Draymond Green over 6.5 assists (-113)
Green enjoys playing the Bucks. He’s failed to clear this line only twice in the last 7 meetings against them, posting 8 assists in back-to-back meetings. So far this season he trails only Steph Curry in assists per game, dishing out 6.8 dimes a night. In 4 games played in December, he’s averaging 7 a night, up from 6.1 in November.
The Warriors currently lead the NBA with 29.6 assists per game and Green’s positioning on the floor has been one of the key reasons why they are able to distribute the basketball so well. His playmaking takes a lot of pressure off of Curry which allows him to be so productive scoring-wise. With Andrew Wiggins out of this game, he gets even more time handling the basketball which should result in better numbers. In the win over Boston they finished with 26 assists, and with a similar effort tonight they can keep this game close. Count on Green to deliver.
