There are 9 games on the NBA slate on Friday and we will be treated to an ESPN double-header. To start, the Miami Heat will be visiting the Dallas Mavericks. The hosts have had defensive issues of late which could help turn this one into an exciting high-scoring shootout. That will be followed by the Memphis Grizzlies’ trip to take on the Los Angeles Lakers. The visitors will have the chance to set a new franchise-record winning streak on a national stage.

Golden State Warriors ML (+240) over Cleveland Cavaliers
The Golden State Warriors no longer have the worst road record in the league, and will have a chance to further improve on that here against the Cleveland Cavaliers. While it will be their second game of a back-to-back, they have been respectable in those outings this season, with a 4-5 record. The Warriors will be boosted by the fact that the Cavaliers might be without Donovan Mitchell. He is listed as questionable, having missed their last game against the Grizzlies with a groin injury. With both Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson likely taking to the floor tonight, the Warriors could enjoy a major backcourt advantage.
Over the last 10 games, the Warriors have also been 9th in the league in defensive rating. It should position them well to lock down Darius Garland. While they can be susceptible to bigger teams, the Cavaliers big men are not great individual scorers down low. If they can limit Garland as a result, they should have a great chance of disrupting the hosts offensive rhythm. They just may be able to pull off a win on the road.
Los Angeles Lakers ML (+220) over Memphis Grizzlies
The Grizzlies might be running out of steam. While they have won 11 straight games, they needed a last-second tip shot to defeat the Cleveland Cavaliers in their last outing. Considering their opponents were without the services of Mitchell, that performance looks even less impressive. Tonight they will be taking on a Lakers team that has been respectable on their home court, with a 11-11 record. With the Grizzlies at just 11-10 on the road this season, this game could be much tighter than the odds may suggest.
LeBron James should prove to be a tough matchup for the visitors. In 4 games against them last season, he averaged 27.8 points per game in 52.6% shooting from the field. While Dillon Brooks is a very good on-ball defender, James will probably be able to get the best of him with his size advantage. The Lakers are 9th in offensive rating over the last 10 games. If James can get going early tonight, it could help create space for his teammates to join in. The Lakers have a real shot of winning this shootout.
