The 2023 NBA calendar has got off to an exciting start, and we should have more thrilling action on Friday. The highlight is in Utah, where the Jazz will host the red-hot Hawks. We’ll be focusing on that game in this mega parlay, as well as another two matchups that should feature plenty of excitement.

Atlanta Hawks ML (+105) over Utah Jazz
To start off our mega parlay, we’re going with the Atlanta Hawks on the money line. The Hawks offense has come around over the last 10 games as their backcourt is heating up. Atlanta is 6-4 over its last 10 games, including wins over the Mavericks, Knicks, Suns and Thunder. During that stretch, Trae Young and company are averaging over 110 points per game as their offense is rounding into form.
After a poor start, the Hawks’ offense has finally clicked and it has carried over into road games, a noticeable change from earlier in the season. Don’t expect that to change against a Jazz team who are 26th in defensive rating and have surrendered over 110 points in 19 of their last 22 games. Expect a ton of points on both sides in this matchup, and it wouldn’t surprise me if both teams hit 120. With that said, I’ll gladly take the Hawks at plus-money odds on the money line.

Portland Trail Blazers ML (+145) over Washington Wizards
Don’t look now, but the Wizards have quietly won 6 straight games and are playing some of the best basketball in the Eastern Conference. Washington is 9th in the East, trailing Atlanta by just 1 game for the #8 seed and leading the 11th seed Bulls by 1.5 games. However, with Washington having picked up most of their wins over non-playoff teams over this recent stretch, this presents a good opportunity for a sell-high spot on the Wizards.
Portland is 5th in offensive rating and true shooting percentage this season, and the Blazers are coming off wins over the Hawks and Grizzlies in consecutive games. With Damian Lillard averaging 38 points over his last 3 games, it’s hard to fathom that the Wizards have anyone who can slow him down either. Back the Blazers at this plus-money price.
Phoenix Suns vs Boston Celtics under 226.5 (-110)
To close out our mega parlay, we’re going with the under in this Suns vs Celtics matchup. Boston is the best team in basketball by most metrics, and it’s no surprise given the Celtics’ play this season. They are 1st in net rating and boast a top-5 unit on both offense and defense. They are a well-oiled machine and the favorites to get back to the NBA Finals for a reason. While Boston has been elite defensively all season, the Celtics defense has been inconsistent in recent games. Therefore, I think we’re getting a bit of a inflated number on this total.
In the last meeting between these teams, there were a combined 223 points scored as the Celtics dominated from the opening tip. Phoenix’s defense is much better situated to quieten Boston’s dynamic offense this time around and the Suns are still without Devin Booker to pace their offensive output. With the Celtics being double-digit favorites as well, it’s hard to see overtime happening in this one.
