Show Bio

Like most Lithuanians, I started watching basketball from the age of six. I'm based out in London and played basketball at the University of Lincoln here in the UK. I had always had an interest in the NBA but things really took off in the summer of 2010. That year Linas Kleiza led Lithuania to 3rd place at the World Championships and signed with the Toronto Raptors to replace the departing Chris Bosh. I've been a Raptors fan since that day and I've not missed a game since. I've been handicapping games for more than a decade, specializing in player props. The Brooklyn Nets find themselves on a 3-game losing streak in the NBA. That has pulled them right back into the play-in race in the Eastern Conference with the Miami Heat just a game behind. Things will not get any easier tonight against the Cleveland Cavaliers. The visitors are relatively safe in 4th, but will be keen to stay in strong form until the playoffs start.

You can read all of our NBA predictions for today’s slate but for now check out my Nets vs Cavaliers SGP below:

Cameron Johnson to score 20+ points (+240)

Over the last 10 games Cameron Johnson has been averaging 16.4 points per game for the Nets. And while he will be going up one of the stronger defensive teams in the league this season, he should play a major role on offense. Johnson will have a size and length advantage over the Cavaliers’ wings which should help him get his shots off efficiently.

If Jarrett Allen returns to the Cleveland lineup, it will give the Cavaliers plenty of size to pack the paint with. That should make it difficult for the Nets to score inside. Look for them to turn to Johnson on the perimeter. In all but 1 game in March, more than 50% of his attempts have come from deep. With the Cavaliers ranking 23rd in opponent 3-point percentage this season, Johnson should thrive. Multiple makes from deep will set him up well to reach the 20-point mark for the second time in 4 games.

Evan Mobley to record 10+ rebounds (+105)

For this line it may be best to wait on confirmation of whether Allen will return to the Cleveland team after an eye contusion. If he does and Evan Mobley slides over to the 4, it would be worth swapping Mobley with the center in this line. Either way, both Cavaliers bigs could expect to dominate against Nic Claxton.

The Nets center is one of my favourite players to bet against. Over his last 2 games he has allowed a 17-rebound performance to Nicola Jokic and a 21-rebound night to Domantas Sabonis. His lack of ability to space the floor, slight frame and eagerness to block shots make him a perfect opponent for rebounding big men. His willingness to help on drives has left the Nets 28th in opponent offensive rebounds per game. Whoever is the starting center for the Cavaliers should be able to take full advantage on the glass tonight.
