Chicago Bulls +5.5 (-112)

Atlanta’s 11-point win over Miami last night will be an eye-opener for the Bulls and Thunder, giving them hope that anything is possible in postseason scenarios where the winner takes all. It hasn’t been the best of years for the Bulls so far, but that has been mainly down to injuries. They were able to get hot towards the end of the regular season, winning 4 of their last 6 games and 8 of their last 10 on the road. Toronto won both their games at Scotiabank Arena this season, but Chicago still holds an edge with a 7-3 ATS/SU record in their head-to-head meetings. DeMar DeRozan will be extra motivated to take out his former team, and he and Zach LaVine have really played well of late. Toronto is an impressive 11-1 SU in its last 12 home games, but has lacked consistency for long stretches this season and has also had to deal with a lot of injury setbacks. Fred VanVleet and OG Anunoby are both dealing with knocks and the Bulls should have the advantage in the back court, so they should be able to cover the spread.

Wednesday’s NBA mega parlay has +1108 odds!

Zach LaVine over 2.5 made threes (+100)

After 3 consecutive games with just 1 three made, Zach LaVine is looking to turn things around and there’s no better opponent to do it against than the Toronto Raptors. Teams are making 37.4% of shots from the perimeter against the Raptors this season, which ranks them 28th in the NBA with only Portland and San Antonio being worse. It gets slightly better in home games at 36.9%, but that still ranks them in the bottom 10 of the NBA. LaVine is one of those rare players who averages more threes made with a higher efficiency on the road than at home. He has made at least 3 threes in 4 of 7 meetings with Toronto, and with DeRozan garnering all the attention on offense he might go under the radar a bit, which should help a lot with him reaching 3 threes. In 2 games played against Toronto this season he’s shooting the 3-ball at a respectable 38.5%, so I’m hoping that translates well into tonight’s game.

Fred VanVleet to score 20+ points (+115)

Being in a contract year means that Fred VanVleet will go all out in this game to prove his worth to the team as he tries to sign another long-term deal. Getting the Raptors into the postseason would definitely help his cause, but I’m not basing my optimism on that. VanVleet has been stellar in 2 of 3 games he’s played against the Bulls this season, scoring 30 and 27 points while making 5 and 6 threes respectively. He might not have the size required to slow down LaVine or DeRozan, but he does have the speed and can hit the 3-ball, which means the Bulls will have to keep a close eye on him. Prior to the last 3 games of the regular season, when he was dealing with a minor injury, he was able to clear the 20-point line 4 times in 7 games. With the Raptors’ season on the line I think he can come up big.
