Chicago Bulls 1-10 win margin (+195)
Brooklyn ended a 4-game losing streak on their home court last night by just barely beating the Indiana Pacers. Ben Simmons sat out that game, and his status is unknown for tonight, but with him in the lineup the Nets have really struggled to build chemistry. In his first 6 games as a Net he has posted a +/- of -53, so if he plays the Nets could be doomed. After losing consecutive games to San Antonio and Philadelphia, the Bulls need to get off to a winning start in November. Brooklyn’s home form has been far from convincing as they are just 1-8 ATS in their last 9 at Barclays Center, so that’s something they can try and use to their advantage. Chicago’s offense has looked great over their past several games. They’ve topped tonight’s team total of 115.5 in 3 of their last 4 games, scoring an average of 120.5 points. Against a Brooklyn defense that’s leaking points all over the place I really fancy their chances. Chicago won the regular-season series 2-1 last year and they also beat the Nets by 4 points in the only game played in Brooklyn. It should be a close one, but Chicago can pull it out in the end.
DeMar DeRozan to score 35+ points (+520)
In 2 of his last 3 meetings with the Nets, DeMar DeRozan has posted 29 and 28 points while shooting 50% or better in those games. With several injured players on the roster including Zach LaVine, Ayo Dosunmu, Coby White and Andre Drummond, the Bulls will rely heavily on DeRozan to carry them on offense. He has already scored over 30 points in 3 of the 7 games played this season and in his last game against Philadelphia he had a very efficient 24 points. When LaVine doesn’t play his usage rate goes up significantly and the numbers reflect that – he averages 33.9 points per game compared to 26.1 when LaVine is in the lineup. The Brooklyn defense has really struggled over the first couple of weeks of the new season, allowing the 3rd-most points per game at 120.3 a night while ranking in the bottom 10 when it comes to rim defense. DeRozan does most of his damage from the mid-range and from attacking the basket, so expect him to shine tonight.
