Philadelphia 76ers 1-10 win margin (+210)

After getting blown out in Game 2, the 76ers have to hit the reset button and forget that game as quickly as possible. Game 3 could be pivotal in this matchup, with the series lead on the line. The atmosphere at Wells Fargo Arena will be electric due to the MVP presentation for Joel Embiid, and I think the Sixers can ride that momentum to start the game. So far the Celtics have won the opening quarter by 7 and 6 points, so if Philly is able to keep it close early they’ll be in a good position. The 76ers have won 5 of their last 6 home games and are 6-1-1 ATS in their last 8 overall. Jayson Tatum scoring just 7 points on Wednesday is a concern for the Celtics, especially since they lost Game 3 in their previous series against the Atlanta Hawks. With 4 players averaging 18 or more points in the postseason, there is surely no way the Sixers will have another poor shooting night like they did in Game 2. Their only regular-season win over Boston happened in this building by just 2 points and I think it’s going to be a close game tonight. I have the Sixers coming out on top.

Joel Embiid over 0.5 made threes (-125)

On a night when he receives his MVP trophy in front of the Philly faithful, I’m expecting big things from Joel Embiid. He didn’t have the best of games in Game 2, when he played just 27 minutes and scored 15 points. That was a feel-out game after almost 2 weeks of no basketball activity, so it was good that the Sixers brought him back just so he could get a feel for the series. His knee injury is obviously still there as Embiid is wearing a protective brace to keep it stable. Because of that I think he will try to avoid contact as much as possible and settle for jump shots instead, so I think he’ll be around the perimeter more than he normally is. Although he shot only 30% from deep during the regular season, he has made a conscious effort to make at least 1 three per game, which was his average in the 66 games he’s played. Embiid averaged 36.8 points per game in 4 regular-season meetings against the Celtics. I’m not expecting those type of numbers tonight, but him making 1 shot from downtown seems like a solid bet. The Celtics have slipped a bit defending the perimeter and their last 3 games have seen opponents make 36.9% of their attempts, which is an increase from 34.7% during the regular season.

We also have a Denver Nuggets vs Phoenix Suns Same Game Parlay at +614 odds!

Tyrese Maxey to record 1+ steals (-195)

Tyrese Maxey is tied with James Harden as the team’s leading scorer this postseason, averaging 21 points a night, but the Sixers will need much more from him in tonight’s game as they try to take a 2-1 lead in the series. Maxey didn’t have a steal in Game 2, but in Game 1 he recorded 4 of them. He’s averaging 1.5 steals per game in the postseason so far, failing to make 1 in only 2 of the 6 games he’s played. His speed is one of the main reasons why he’s able to play the passing lanes, so the Celtics will have to be really careful when he’s on the court. If we count the regular season, Maxey has stolen the ball at least once in every other game in his last 8 games against Boston, so by that logic after not getting one in Wednesday’s game he is likely to do so tonight.
