The season is on the line for the Boston Celtics as they head to Philadelphia down 3-2 in their best-of-7 series. Can they stave off elimination or will the 76ers advance to their first Eastern Conference Finals since 2001? Tip-off is live at 7:30 pm ET on ESPN and I’ve prepared a Same Game Parlay for Celtics vs 76ers which you can find below.

Last night, I landed a Miami Heat vs New York Knicks Same Game Parlay at +516 odds and I’m going for back-to-back winners this evening. As well as this SGP, make sure you check out our NBA predictions page for picks on the side and total for both of tonight’s games.

Boston Celtics 1-10 win margin over Philadelphia 76ers (+175)

From Jayson Tatum starting games off poorly to head coach Joe Mazzulla not using his time-outs late in games, there’s a lot we can criticize the Boston Celtics for over the past couple of games in this series. Maybe the season being on the line for them serves as a wakeup call tonight? They were in this exact situation in last season’s playoffs when they trailed the Milwaukee Bucks 3-2 with Game 6 being on the road. They were able to pull that one out thanks to 46 points from Jayson Tatum and then proceeded to blow out the Bucks in Game 7. Ime Udoka might no longer be their head coach, but the experience has remained with the team so I’m not expecting the Celtics to roll over here.

You can’t take anything away from the Sixers and their Game 5 win, but my worry with them is Doc Rivers. He is the only coach in NBA history to lose 3 series after being up 3-1. He also blew the 2010 NBA Finals when his team was up 3-2, he lost in Round 1 as the higher seed 3 times and he’s yet to win a series as the lower-seeded team. Game 6 should go down to the wire, and despite the Celtics choking in that scenario in Game 4, I have them winning this game and forcing a decider on Saturday.

Derrick White over 1.5 made threes (-130)

When Derrick White plays well, so do the Celtics — at least that’s been the case in most games this season. In wins, White’s averaging 13 points per game, up from 11.1 per game in losses. More importantly, his efficiency goes up in those wins. In victories, he’s 10% more efficient and a whopping 15.3% more efficient from three-point land. He drains the deep ball at 42.7% in wins this season, plus he also has a slightly better percentage in road games compared to home games. Against Philly, he averaged 45% makes during the regular season from three and so far in the postseason he’s at 41.1% overall.

White has cleared this line in 3 of his last 4 games and in 8 of his last 11 games overall. All the numbers are pointing to him having a solid game here, and that’s exactly what the Celtics will need if they’re going to secure the win in this game.

Joel Embiid over 10.5 rebounds (-132)

Elimination games are never pretty and I expect a lot of effort on defense from both the Sixers and Celtics here. The rebounding numbers should be up across the board as a result. The rebounding battle was won by the 76ers in Game 5 as they grabbed 49 boards compared to just 36 by the Celtics. However, it was a total team effort as each starter got at least 7 boards, which is not something we see happen often. It’s usually Joel Embiid cleaning the glass and the rest of the team following suit. Embiid did have 13 rebounds in Game 3 and Game 4 though, and he’s averaging exactly 10 per game in 7 games this postseason.

We haven’t seen much from either Al Horford or Robert Williams over the last couple of games and Embiid owned the Celtics during the regular season, averaging 11.8 rebounds in the 4 meetings. Game 6 will be huge for the Sixers and the MVP will need to step up. A double-double of at least 30 points and 11 rebounds would suffice here and I expect nothing less from Embiid.
