NBA Boston Celtics vs Atlanta Hawks Same Game Parlay picks: Hawks force Game 7 at +886 odds

Atlanta Hawks guard Trae Young (11) looks to pass the ball as Miami Heat forward P.J. Tucker (17) and teammate guard Tyler Herro (14) defend during the second half of game one of the first round for the NBA playoffs.

Atlanta did the unthinkable in Game 5, winning outright as a double-digit underdog, and now the pressure is on Boston to finish the job on the road. Tip-off is at 8:30 pm ET on TNT and it’s the only game of the night.

I’ve prepared a Same Game Parlay, looking to land another after cashing on last night’s +491 odds Warriors vs Kings SGP. Let’s dive into it!

Atlanta Hawks 1-10 win margin (+310)

Trae Young to record 10+ assists (+100)

Derrick White 2+ made threes (-270)

Same Game Parlay odds: +886

Atlanta Hawks 1-10 win margin (+310)

Entering Game 5 on the road the Hawks were 13-point underdogs, and they were down by as many as 13 points with their second-best player, Dejounte Murray, not playing. However, with a few questionable plays from the Celtics down the stretch they were able to pull off the upset. To put in perspective how unlikely their win was, State Farm Arena had booked a concert on the same night that Game 6 was supposed to be played! Trae Young exploded for 38 points and 13 assists, making the game-winning three late and now the Hawks are in a position to force a decider on Sunday. The Celtics are still huge favorites, but their inconsistency has me thinking they might not be able to close out the series tonight. Jayson Tatum is shooting under 40% in the last 3 games, and he went just 1-for-10 from three in Game 5. History is also on Boston’s side as the Celtics have won 8 of the last 12 meetings in this building, but I’m going with the Hawks. They’ll undoubtedly be the more motivated team and they also get Murray back after his suspension. Right now we have 3 first-round series in the playoffs that could potentially go to a Game 7, and I have a feeling there will be drama tonight in Atlanta.

Trae Young to record 10+ assists (+100)

Only the now-eliminated Cleveland Cavaliers were better than Boston at stopping the opposing team’s ball movement during the regular season. The Celtics were at 23.1 opponent assists per game, but that is up to 25 over the last 3 games, which is a clear indicator the Hawks are doing good things on offense. Atlanta has won 2 of the last 3 games in the series and Young’s contribution over those 3 games has been 13, 15 and 9 assists. It goes without saying they won’t extend the series without a big game from Trae Young. Murray coming back takes the ball out of Young’s hands a little, but we’re getting +100 odds on double-digit assists from a player who has averaged 10.2 per game over 77 regular-season and postseason games this year. Consistency over that big of a sample size has me confident that Young can pull off another double-double.

Derrick White 2+ made threes (-270)

Derrick White has catapulted himself to become the 3rd-best scorer for the Celtics in this series, averaging 19.4 points per game on almost 60% shooting from the field and 50% from three. As good of a player he is though, that has more to do with Young being occupied by how to score instead of focusing on how to contain the Celtics point guard. White has connected on 2 threes in every game in this series while averaging 3 makes per game from distance. Atlanta ranked 14th as a team in opponent 3-point percentage this season, allowing 35.9% of makes from deep, and that’s up to almost 39% over the last 3 games of this series, so White shouldn’t have many issues getting to his series average. It’s just a shame for Boston it may be in a losing effort.
