It’s a showdown between a couple of Eastern Conference rivals as the Philadelphia 76ers host the Atlanta Hawks in what will be the 3rd meeting of the season between the two teams. Both teams are playing on the second night of a back-to-back here with the season series tied at 1-1. Philadelphia has struggled with injuries lately with their 3 best players — Joel Embiid, James Harden and Tyrese Maxey — all out, but they’ve somehow managed to string together 3 wins in 4 games. There’s also a decent chance Embiid plays here as he is a game-time decision after recovering from a foot injury. He torched the Hawks in the last meeting with 42 points and 10 boards, so it’s safe to say that Atlanta doesn’t really have anyone on their roster to counter him.
Clint Capela could also miss tonight’s game and he is their only consistent option when it comes to guarding the paint and rebounding. The Hawks are only 1-3 over their last 4 games and losing to the likes of Houston the other night was not a good look for them. I have Philadelphia winning by at least 5 points here.

Trae Young to record 10+ assists (+130)
With Young’s struggles shooting the ball this season, I am more comfortable backing him to get the assists tonight. He leads the team at 9.4 per game this season, which is 2nd in the entire NBA to Tyrese Haliburton. Trae is coming off a 14-assist night in the loss against Miami, which is a really big number considering his team scored just 98 points. It was the 3rd time in his last 5 games he’s gone double-figures in the dimes department and against Philly he’s averaging 9 per game in 2 meetings so far.
In the one game played at Wells Fargo, Young had 11 assists, but his team lost the game despite that. His last 4 games against Philadelphia read 11, 7, 10 and 10 assists. With the likes of Tyrese Maxey and James Harden out, he has less work on the defensive end here, so hopefully he can use that to his advantage and find some open teammates. Philadelphia gives up 24.7 assists per game in home games this season, which ranks only 18th in the NBA.
