We are continuing the week in Major League Baseball with a full 15-game slate on Wednesday. There are a whopping 7 afternoon games on the docket, as teams wrap up on series and head on the road to begin another. The slate also includes a showdown between Houston and Tampa Bay, plus St. Louis is paying another visit to San Francisco. Below is my MLB mega parlay for Wednesday, and also be sure to check out all of our MLB picks for today’s games.

Mets -1.5 (+100)

Braves -1.5 (+130)

Cubs ML (-105)

MLB parlay odds: +798

For this parlay, we are going with 2 favorites on the run line in addition to a money line play. Let’s break down each of the 3 legs.

New York Mets -1.5 over Washington Nationals (+100)

You really don’t have to look much further than a matchup being “Mets vs Nationals” to immediately start leaning toward the run line. It’s quite simply 1 of the most talented teams in baseball facing 1 of the worst. Of course, it’s never that simple in reality, but you really do have to like New York’s chances today with Kodai Senga assuming the pitching duties. Senga’s 4.29 ERA to begin his MLB career is unspectacular, but he has 25 strikeouts through 21.0 innings and most importantly the Mets are 4-0 when he starts. He has recorded 3 of those 4 wins. In fact, the Mets have never won by fewer than 3 runs when Senga is on the mound. They are outscoring opponents 36-13 in those contests. There’s no need to overthink this; New York on the run line is a great leg for this mega parlay.

Atlanta Braves -1.5 over Miami Marlins (+130)

The Braves had lost 4 games in a row prior to this series, but a date with the Marlins appears to be just what the doctor ordered. Atlanta is 2-0 so far in this 4-game set and has won the first 2 contests by a combined margin of 18-4. Sandy Alcantara will try to come to Florida’s rescue on Wednesday, but he hasn’t been the same pitcher as he was last year. Alcantara’s strikeout rate is down, his xBA has skyrocketed and his ground-ball rate has plummeted. He has allowed at least 3 runs in 3 of his starts.

Meanwhile, Atlanta is countering with an in-form Bryce Elder. The right-hander’s 1.14 ERA and 1.18 WHIP have exceeded all expectations so far, and he is coming off a stellar performance against the Astros last week. He did not allow an earned run in that outing, which was the third time in 4 he has done that this season. Look for the Braves to take care of business at home and win by multiple runs yet again.

Chicago Cubs ML over San Diego Padres (-105)

The Cubs rolled 6-0 on Tuesday, so they have to be feeling good heading into Wednesday. That confidence level should also be high because Drew Smyly is taking the mound. In his most recent start, he took a perfect game into the eighth inning before it was broken up by a fluke infield single. Overall, in his last 3 starts the southpaw has allowed only 2 runs on 7 hits in 18.1 innings of work. Now he faces a San Diego squad that got just 5 hits in the series opener.

The heralded SD offense is last place in the MLB in batting average and at the bottom of the league in runs scored. For the Padres, 5 of their 9 everyday players are hitting below .200 — a group that includes Juan Soto and Fernando Tatis Jr. Adding insult to injury, Michael Wacha is toeing the rubber today. He has a 7.08 ERA and a 1.72 WHIP so far in 2023. Give me the Cubs.
