A full 15-game schedule in Major League Baseball on Tuesday is headlined in part by the Tampa Bay Rays visiting the New York Yankees. Both teams are in postseason contention as the trade deadline approaches this evening, albeit one to a greater extent than the other. Tampa Bay is 1.5 games back of Baltimore in the American League East, while New York is 3.5 games out of a wild-card spot.
Here is my Rays vs Yankees Same Game Parlay for this showdown between AL East rivals, but also be sure to check out all of our MLB picks for today’s slate.
Rays -1.5 (+146)
Zach Eflin to record 6+ strikeouts (+128)
Wander Franco to record an RBI (+175)
MLB Parlay odds: +888
Part of the value in Same Game Parlays, of course, is that all of its components can be correlated if you so choose. That is the plan here, as Zach Eflin recording his fair share of strikeouts and Wander Franco driving in a run would both work well with a Tampa Bay win and cover. Let’s break down each of the 3 legs.

Tampa Bay Rays -1.5 over New York Yankees (+146)
The Yankees have lost 2 in a row and find themselves just 4 games over .500 and 10 games out of first place in the division. Nobody can say for sure what they are going to do at the trade deadline; will they buy or sell? Or both? Or neither? Well, I’m selling them today. The Rays took the series opener 5-1 on Monday and have the pitching matchup advantage on Tuesday with Eflin going up against Carlos Rodon. Whereas Eflin is in fine form, Rodon is 1-3 with a 5.75 ERA since returning from injury to begin his 2023 campaign in early July. New York’s offense has been anemic of late, too, so I think Tampa Bay can win big tonight.

Zach Eflin to record 6+ strikeouts (+128)
Eflin has been stellar in 2023, with an 11-6 record and a 3.64 ERA to go along with 116 strikeouts and only 17 walks in 116.1 innings. The right-hander has reached the 7-strikeout mark in 4 of his last 7 outings, so asking him to get to 6 on Tuesday should not be too much. Moreover, Eflin has faced the Yankees once this year and mowed down 9 batters in just 6.0 innings of work during an 8-7 Rays victory in the Bronx on May 14.

Wander Franco to record an RBI (+175)
Franco is on a 4-game hitting streak, which includes 2 multi-hit performances. He has homered twice during this stretch while scoring a total of 4 runs. Franco is doing it all for Tampa Bay at the moment and facing a left-hander in Rodon should prove to be beneficial for the 22-year-old shortstop, giving him every chance for more success. He is batting .311 against southpaws this season compared to .257 against right-handers.
