Tuesday’s MLB slate is headlined by an all-New York battle between the Yankees and Mets. It’s a good pitching matchup, too, with Luis Severino facing Max Scherzer. New York Yankees ML over New York Mets (+128)
The Mets have been a complete disaster of late. They have lost 8 of their last 9 games, which includes sweeps at the hands of Toronto and National League East rival Atlanta. Not even Max Scherzer could help them against the Braves last week, as the veteran right-hander gave up 11 hits and 5 earned runs in just 5.2 innings of work during a 7-5 loss. Scherzer has another tough test on his hands in the form of the Yankees, who lost 2 out of 3 to the AL East rival Red Sox over the weekend but still come in with a solid 38-29 record.
The Yankees are countering with righty Luis Severino, who hasn’t been great in a limited number of appearances this season but gets to deal with a Mets lineup that will likely be missing Pete Alonso for the remainder of June. Well into plus money, the Bronx Bombers have great value to pile on the Mets’ woes.

Giancarlo Stanton to record an RBI (+155)
Stanton has not done much in June, but a matchup with Scherzer might actually be just what the doctor ordered. The slugger is batting a respectable .250 lifetime in the head-to-head matchup with an impressive 3 home runs in 26 at-bats. It’s also worth noting that 4 of Stanton’s 5 homers this season have come against right-handed pitchers and he is hitting .333 on the road. Combine all of that with Scherzer’s struggles in his most recent start and you have to like Stanton’s chances to find some success on Tuesday night.

Brandon Nimmo to score a run (-125)
In 7 plate appearances against Severino, Nimmo is 3-for-5 with 2 singles, a double and 2 walks. Nimmo has a great opportunity to reach base multiple times in this game and when you are the table setter in the lineup that also means you have a good chance of being driven home. The center fielder has scored 3 runs in the last 5 games and has also recorded 5 RBIs in the last 4, so he is seeing the ball well and playing with confidence. The Mets may not do a ton of damage tonight, but they should do enough for Nimmo to put a run on the board.
