Another week in Major League Baseball gets underway with a 12-game schedule on Monday. A single afternoon special pits the Washington Nationals against the New York Mets, while the Los Angeles Dodgers wrap things up by welcoming the Minnesota Twins to town at 10:10 pm ET. Below is my MLB mega parlay for Monday, and also be sure to check out all of our MLB picks.

For this MLB parlay, we are going with 2 favorites on the run line and 1 underdog on the money line. Let’s break down each of the 3 legs.

LA Angels -1.5 over Baltimore Orioles (+135)
It’s a Shohei Ohtani day, folks. Look no further than the Angels’ starting pitcher to immediately gravitate toward their run line – especially when it’s well into plus money. It’s never an automatic slam dunk, of course, but you have to feel good about the run-line value in this case. Ohtani is 4-1 with 2.74 ERA so far this year and the Angels have won 6 of his last 7 starts. Can they win by multiple runs on Monday? With Grayson Rodriguez toeing the rubber for Baltimore, the Halos should like their chances.
Rodriguez is saddled with a 5.08 ERA and 1.54 WHIP; his May ERA through 2 outings is 7.71. It’s hard to see the righty getting a lot of run support, and not just because Ohtani is on the mound. The Orioles have scored only 16 runs in their last 7 games; that’s an anemic average of 2.29, for those counting.
Houston Astros -1.5 over Chicago Cubs (+115)
I will happily give the 1.5 runs when the Astros are playing at home and sending Framber Valdez to the mound for a matchup with Jameson Taillon of the Cubs. Valdez is sporting a 2.38 ERA and 1.04 WHIP in 2023 to go along with 57 strikeouts in 53.0 innings of work. The left-hander just pitched 8.0 innings of baseball while striking out 12 batters during a 3-1 win over the Angels last Tuesday. A full 5 days of rest should have him poised for more success at the expense of a less dangerous Chicago lineup. Meanwhile, Taillon is 0-2 with a horrendous 6.41 ERA. There is no need to overthink this one; Houston should roll.

Boston Red Sox ML over Seattle Mariners (+102)
The Red Sox just endured a 3-game sweep at home against the Cardinals. They have lost 4 in a row only once this season and that was to the league-leading Rays – and on the road. I think Boston will right the ship on Monday behind right-hander Tanner Houck. Although Houck has been far from amazing in 2023, the Red Sox are 5-2 when he starts and they have not lost a single game that he has pitched at home (4-0). The Mariners are countering with George Kirby, who – it has to be said – is in great form. On the bright side for the purposes of this bet, Kirby was 0-1 with a 7.20 ERA in 10.0 innings against Boston last year. Give me the Sox at home at plus money.
