The week in Major League Baseball continues with a full 15-game slate on Friday. It includes a couple of showdowns on Apple TV: Cubs vs Blue Jays and Rangers vs Giants. Tonight’s schedule also features the Yankees paying a visit to Miami and Baltimore visiting Seattle. Below is my MLB mega parlay for Friday, but also be sure to check out our MLB picks for every game today.

Boston Red Sox -1.5 over Detroit Tigers (+134)
Every series is crucial now for the Red Sox, who are 4 games out of a wild-card spot in the American League. The Tigers, of course, have been out of postseason contention for a while now (what’s new?!). With more incentive and Chris Sale on the mound, I like Boston to win big on Friday. Sale is coming back from injury (again) and has looked good in recent rehab starts with Worcester. Detroit doesn’t have much offense to speak of outside of Spencer Torkelson, so this appears to be a favorable matchup for Sale. Jarren Duran, Masataka Yoshida and Rafael Devers are in fine form at the plate and should be able to do some damage against Tarik Skubal.

San Diego Padres -1.5 over Arizona Diamondbacks (+100)
Seeing Blake Snell on the mound pretty much has me sprinting to the betting window to back San Diego no matter what. Okay, that may be a bit of an exaggeration since you always want to carefully research bets before making them, but you always have to feel good about Snell’s chances these days. The southpaw has arguably been the best pitcher in baseball over the past couple of months, a stretch that includes a 0.87 ERA in July. When you consider that Arizona is sending Ryne Nelson to the mound, you have to like this play even more. Nelson is saddled with a 5.16 ERA and at home in 2023 his ERA is a ridiculous 8.01. Snell should get more than enough run support from the Padres’ bats.

Baltimore Orioles ML over Seattle Mariners (+124)
It is true that the Mariners have won 7 games in a row, but that’s why you can get the Orioles well into plus money and that is value I’m not going to pass up. And, of course, the Mariners have not been beating teams like the Orioles. After all, Baltimore is the best team in the American League and now leads the AL East by 3 games following its 5-4 victory over Houston on Thursday. The O’s are starting Kyle Gibson for Friday’s series opener and that is good news for their supporters. Gibson has delivered 4 quality starts in a row and Baltimore has won 4 of his last 5 starts. As good as Luis Castillo has been for the M’s, they have lost 3 of his last 5 outings. At this price, I will happily roll with the Orioles to end the Mariners’ streak.
