Pickswise was nice enough to give me the opportunity to write my plays up for you all. For those of you who don’t know me, they refer to me as JutPicks on Twitter. I post all my plays with brief write-ups every day. Now I get to write even more with no character limit!

I pride myself in being as transparent as they come. My NBA record from last season and this season are listed in my bio alongside with my MLB and NFL record. Without further ado, let’s dive into my favorite plays for Friday.

Cole Anthony (Magic) over 20.5 points (-106)

Line available at FanDuel at the time of publishing.

The 2nd-year point guard out of North Carolina is making huge strides this season. He has increased his scoring by 7 points and near the top 10 in points per game for point guards. This game will feature the Magic without backcourt mate Jalen Suggs. The 2 games that Anthony has played without Suggs, he scored 29 and 24 points and saw his usage rate increase by 4%.

The matchup here is what I like the most. The Rockets give up the 7th-most points on average to point guards and just gave up a whopping 39 points to Gilgeous-Alexander. He attempted 16 free throws which is another statistic that Anthony excels in. He averages just under 4 free-throw attempts per game which is 10th best among point guards.

Anthony is fresh off injury but just scored a team-high 24 points in a win against the Western Conference powerhouse Denver Nuggets.

Tyrese Maxey (76ers) over 4.5 assists (+100)

Line available at DraftKings at the time of publishing.

This is a confusing line to me. I usually will focus solely on point props but this stood out to me. The 2nd year point guard is over in 12/22 games and has three 9 assist games in his last 6. His last game was a dud. He only registered 1 assist on 8 opportunities. The 76ers shot 26% from 3 point range and 27% from the field. Those are 2 statists that on the season they rank top 14.

The Hawks allow over 25 assist per game, which ranks 6th most in basketball — and more importantly they allow the most to opposing point guards. I do not see another sub 90 point game from the 76ers against the Hawks, who rank 23rd in defensive efficiency and 20th in points allowed.
