College Basketball: North Carolina Tar Heels vs Purdue Boilermakers -7.5 (-105), 4pm ET
Purdue came into the season looking good and so far we have seen nothing to indicate they won’t be. Most impressive has been sophomore big center Zach Edey, who is leading the team with averages of 18 ppg and 10 rpg…in under 20 minutes per game. Jaden Ivey might be a lottery pick and he is second on the team at 15 ppg. Purdue has 5 players averaging 11 ppg or more including Trevion Williams who was an All-American coming into the season.
Usually, North Carolina is the bigger team but that is not going to be the case here. Owning the boards at both ends is critical to their style of play and they are just not going to be able to do that against the Boilermakers. With Williams and Edey, the Tar Heels are going to look small in the paint.

College Football: Syracuse Orange vs NC State Wolfpack – Under 49.5 points (-114), 4pm ET
Syracuse will look to get their run game going early, but NC State is allowing just 102.1 rushing yards per game which is 1st in the ACC. NC State will look to lean on their passing attack but the Orange are allowing just 193.9 passing yards per game which is 3rd in the ACC. The offensive strengths of both teams play into the opposing defensive strength, so this one could turn into a defensive struggle.
The total has gone under in six of the last seven games between these programs and it has also gone under in four of NC State’s last five home games against Syracuse. Expect both offenses to struggle early and by the time either finds a rhythm, it will be too late and this total will have cruised under.

NBA: Miami Heat -1.5 (-110) vs Washington Wizards, 7:10pm ET
This is a very short line in favor of the Heat. They just beat Washington and I am expecting the same result on Saturday. Not having Tyler Herro hurts, but they were able to find plenty of scoring. The Heat will really be able to attack the paint against the Wizards, who have no shot-blocking presence to deter it. Miami is an aggressive team and it beat up Washington on the glass in the recent win. Look for another game in which the Wizards have a hard time securing the ball tonight. Miami wins comfortably again.

NHL: Columbus Blue Jackets vs Vegas Golden Knights – Over 5.5 goals (-120), 10pm ET
This game will feature two teams that have struggled defensively all season, and that is exactly what should be exploited when looking to make a wager on the game total in this one. Both the Columbus Blue Jackets and the Vegas Golden Knights are allowing more than 3 goals a game. In fact, the Blue Jackets have surrendered 14 goals in just their last 5 games.
While the defenses have struggled, both offenses rank in the top 10 in the league when it comes to scoring. Unless both goaltenders can stand on their heads for a full 60 minutes, this should be a high scoring game given the team comparison. Take the over in this one and don’t be surprised if it hits before the start of the 3rd period.
