Aleksander Barkov over 1.5 points (+165)
The game on our radar is the Florida Panthers hosting the Buffalo Sabres. First and foremost, the Panthers’ offense has been one to fear with guys like Barkov and Matthew Tkachuk leading the way. Tkachuk just came through for us with this exact same prop in their most recent game, and now it’s Barkov’s turn.
The Sabres’ goaltending has been on a downward spiral, allowing the 4th-most goals per game since the start of the new year. Now they’ll be entering this game after having just been in Tampa Bay facing the Lightning 24 hours earlier. That should allow Barkov to continue his success against the Sabres. He’s recorded multiple points against them in 4 of his last 5 games against Buffalo. It certainly helps that Tkachuk is now on the team, which gives him another elite point-scorer to link up with. In terms of expected goals per 60 minutes, the line of Tkachuk-Barkov-Carter Verhaeghe leads the entire NHL. Now facing the declining Sabres goaltending, that should prove true tonight.

Sam Reinhart over 0.5 assists (+125)
Although he wasn’t listed on the line we just mentioned, Reinhart does skate alongside Barkov the majority of the time. Therefore, if we expect a big game from Barkov, it’s difficult to imagine Reinhart not being involved. Of course, all the factors regarding Buffalo’s goaltending struggles still apply here. Similarly, Reinhart also has Tkachuk and Verhaeghe to link up with. There is a bit of a risk with this play given Reinhart enjoys taking his shots as well, but that’s why we’re getting the great price.
Regardless, we’re also backing a trend to continue. Reinhart is a former Sabre and has loved facing his old team. He’s faced them 6 times and has recorded 9 points, 7 of which were assists. He’s had an assist in all but 1 of those games. Buffalo also knows he wants to get his revenge and key in on him. Reinhart has recorded more than 3 shots just twice in those 6 meetings, as the Sabres force his hand to distribute the puck instead. That’s where an assist to Barkov or Tkachuk comes into play to help us cash this prop.
