I've been a capper since my love for sports met my proficiency with numbers and math. The NFL and NCAAF have always been my first loves, followed by the NHL. Although I prefer sports that involve hitting people, I still love capping MLB, soccer, tennis, and even some esports. Living in Florida has its perks like year-round sports of any kind. Unfortunately, we have just 3 games on the ice tonight. Just as we enjoy giving out bonus plays on nights with big slates, we’re never going to force plays when the matchups just aren’t there. Cale Makar over 0.5 assists (-135)

As the NHL Winter Classic is wrapping up at Fenway Park in Boston, the defending Stanley Cup champions will be dropping the puck against the Vegas Golden Knights. There’s no denying the Colorado Avalanche have not looked dominant, and the Knights have been a top team in the Western Conference throughout the season. However, there’s a great chance that the script is about to flip. The Avs welcomed back superstar Nathan MacKinnon in their most recent game, while Vegas is littered with injuries to key skaters like Jack Eichel, Jonathan Marchessault and Shea Theodore.

While MacKinnon and Cale Makar were held pointless in Nate’s first game back, they were facing an elite defensive team in the Toronto Maple Leafs. Their connection is still uncanny, and we’re anticipating Makar to link up with MacKinnon for a goal tonight. They’ll be on home ice where they generally thrive, and let’s not forget Makar just set a franchise record for most points by a defenseman last season on his way to winning the Norris Trophy for the NHL’s best d-man. He has 34 points through 35 games, 25 of which have been assists. Now he gets arguably the best skater in the world (yes we know who Connor McDavid is) back alongside him. Look for Makar to take full advantage of his league-leading 27:08 minutes of ice time per game to link up with MacKinnon or Mikko Rantanen to find the back of the net.
