We’ve got a quartet of Game 4’s on deck Sunday starting with a defensive battle between the Cleveland Cavaliers and New York Knicks. Followed by the Sacramento Kings and Golden State Warriors in what presumes to be a high scoring affair. Our featured NBA player prop bet is fading Evan Mobley, who will have his hands full on the defensive end. Also be sure to check out our +1127 Mega Parlay.

De’Andre Hunter (ATL) Under 19.5 Pts/Rebs/Asts (+100)

Line available at DraftKings at time of publishing.

De’Andre Hunter is asked to do a ton for the Atlanta Hawks. He’s a defensive stopper but sometimes a liability on the offensive end. When playing with guards like Trae Young and Dejounte Murray, you better be ready to shoot when they penetrate. Hunter shoots the 3-ball at a 35% clip and an even worse 32% at home. Combine that with his 19% usage rate average through the first three games and you have a premier fade candidate at this number.

Hunter will have his hands full guarding Jayson Tatum. If Hunter isn’t providing offense or containing Tatum, the Hawks will go to Saddiq Bey or Bogdan Bogdanovic to provide them with someone who can create their own shot. Hunter has stayed under this line in two of the first three games to start the series and is coming off a game where he only attempted 11 shots.

Evan Mobley (CLE) Under 2.5 assists (-140)

Line available at FanDuel at time of publishing.

Taking an NBA player props under to start the slate is the best way to start the day. Taking an under on a player who will play 35+ minutes might also be crazy. But here we are.

Evan Mobley is an elite defender and gives the Cavaliers someone who crashes the offensive glass. He leads one of the best defensive teams into New York today where he’ll be tasked with guarding Julius Randle. On the offensive end to start the series, it’s been the guard show for Cleveland. Darius Garland, Donovan Mitchell, and Caris LeVert will continue to lead the team in usage and be responsible for carrying the offense.

From an assist standpoint, it’s been almost non-existent this series for Mobley. The pace slows down in the playoffs and especially with these two teams squaring off. Mobley is averaging just 2.3 assist opportunities so far this series and has only combined for 3 assists through 3 games. With the lowest total on the slate and Mobley seeing his usage rate dropping from 20% in the regular season down to 16.8% in the playoffs, I expect him to play his role which is not creating for others. If New York can keep him off the glass, we should have a winner.

Karl-Anthony Towns (MIN) Under 3.5 assists (+102)

Line available at FanDuel at time of publishing.

Yup, you guessed it. Another NBA player prop under. These first 3 games of the series have shown who teams this is and it’s not Towns. Anthony Edwards has proven that he shines when the lights are bright and has taken it upon himself to will the Timberwolves to compete in this series. They’ve found themselves down 3-0 and the stars have to show up by scoring the ball.

Towns and Edwards combined for 56% of the points for the Timberwolves in Game 3 with virtually no help from Mike Conley and the bench. After the first 2 games of the series where Towns wasn’t aggressive, he showed out for 27 points on 10/17 from the field. But, from a passing standpoint, Towns wasn’t for sharing the ball. He’s averaging the 2nd fewest passes in the starting lineup this series behind Rudy Gobert and averaging just 3.3 potential assists.

In 14 career playoff games, Towns has stayed under this line in 12 of them. So far this postseason, including the 2 play-in games, he’s stayed under in 4 of the 5. Expect an aggressive offensive showing from Towns in an elimination game but one that doesn’t involve his teammates.
